What a great group of graphic designers attended the SkillsUSA Oklahoma State Leadership and Skills Conference in Tulsa this last week. Graphic designers Delilah Campbell, Yulisa Jimenez, and Brody Williams were honored Thursday at the REACT EMS offices for designing a 30th anniversary logo for the company. Delilah’s design was for chosen for the marketing and Brody‘s design was used as a sticker on the back of the ambulances. In the future,REACT has decided to remove “30 years” from Delilah’s design and use that as their new corporate logo on all vehicles, for marketing, and for signage. Thank you to the REACT team for the opportunity to assist with updating their logo. Polly Stone, not pictured, also participated in this activity. Congrats to all the designers as they did such a great job.

Local Photographer, Cynthia White, visited the program Tuesday to share her photography skills and review the use of a variety of tools. The graphic design students then browsed the campus using their newfound knowledge to take photos and share their ideas with others. She then critiqued their photos to help them improve their photography skills. Thanks again, Cindy, for helping our students in this new adventure.

The Graphic Design program partnered with the Pott County Giving Project to sponsor a family for Christmas. Through a series of fundraising events, students developed a budget that enabled them to purchase both a “want” and a “need” for each child, as well as provide Christmas dinner for the family. Students also designed custom packaging to add a personal touch to the gifts. Sharon Sepulveda, Dakota Roach, Kelly Hammer, and Garrett Blomquist assisted with delivering the gifts. Thank you to the PCGP for allowing us to be part of spreading holiday cheer. Also featured are students who helped with the creative designs on the packaging.
