Leadership Shawano County

Leadership Shawano County As part of the curriculum of Leadership Shawano County program, participants research, create and facilitate two community service projects.

Leadership Shawano County is a cooperative effort of the Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce and the UW-Extension of Shawano County. The goal of the leadership program is to build a pool of citizens with broad knowledge of the ideas, issues and concerns faced by our local communities. It is hoped that as the participants become aware of the challenges and the many existing resources they will take leadership and active participation roles in helping to meet those challenges.

Calling All Community Organizations & Groups!

Do you have a project that could make a real difference in our community — but need some extra hands and leadership power to make it happen?

Leadership Shawano County (LSC) is looking for project ideas for our next class of leaders! Each year, a group of passionate individuals spends nine months learning about our community, sharpening their leadership skills, and working together on a hands-on class project that benefits Shawano and Menominee Counties.

This is your chance to partner with us! Submit a Request for Proposal (RFP) and your project could be selected as the Class 26 community project for 2025–2026.

Deadline: Monday, September 14

Leadership Shawano County participants had an incredible and impactful April session. From learning more about Amish culture and lifestyle, to meaningful conversations with community partners, to a poverty simulation that challenged perspectives.
They shared how much they appreciated the variety of experiences throughout the day, the opportunity to connect with others, and gained a deeper understanding of the resources and realities that exist right here in our community. The day filled with learning, reflection, and new perspectives.
A heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors, CoVantage Credit Union for sponsoring the brunch and Little Rapids Company for sponsoring the snacks. Your support helped make this meaningful day possible!
