Hello Life Families & Community Partners,
LIFE Center is excited to participate in the California Department of Fish & Wildlife's 2026 Kids Fishing Day at the Mount Shasta Fish Hatchery! This event is hosted by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, with LIFE Center providing transportation, supervision, and support for participating youth. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this community event hosted by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife and to introduce our students to a fun day of fishing, outdoor recreation, and learning about California's natural resources.
This opportunity is available to current LIFE Center students, ages 5–15. Space and supplies are limited, so participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis once a completed permission slip has been received.
Whether your child is an experienced angler or has never picked up a fishing pole before, everyone is welcome! LIFE Center staff will provide a basic introduction to fishing, including fishing safety, respectful outdoor recreation, fish handling, and beginner fishing techniques to help participants feel comfortable and confident.
If your child does not have fishing equipment or basic supplies, don't worry—LIFE Center will do its best to provide the necessary equipment, so every student has the opportunity to participate. We believe every child should have the chance to enjoy the outdoors, learn a new skill, and create lasting memories regardless of experience or access to equipment.
Lunch and snacks will be provided by LIFE Center.
