Hello Life Families & Community Partners,

LIFE Center is excited to participate in the California Department of Fish & Wildlife's 2026 Kids Fishing Day at the Mount Shasta Fish Hatchery! This event is hosted by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, with LIFE Center providing transportation, supervision, and support for participating youth. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this community event hosted by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife and to introduce our students to a fun day of fishing, outdoor recreation, and learning about California's natural resources.

This opportunity is available to current LIFE Center students, ages 5–15. Space and supplies are limited, so participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis once a completed permission slip has been received.

Whether your child is an experienced angler or has never picked up a fishing pole before, everyone is welcome! LIFE Center staff will provide a basic introduction to fishing, including fishing safety, respectful outdoor recreation, fish handling, and beginner fishing techniques to help participants feel comfortable and confident.
If your child does not have fishing equipment or basic supplies, don't worry—LIFE Center will do its best to provide the necessary equipment, so every student has the opportunity to participate. We believe every child should have the chance to enjoy the outdoors, learn a new skill, and create lasting memories regardless of experience or access to equipment.

Lunch and snacks will be provided by LIFE Center.

Help Shape the Future of LIFE Center's After School Program!

LIFE Center is exploring the opportunity to reestablish and expand our After School Program, and we want to hear from you! As we plan for the future, we're asking families, students, educators, community members, and partners to share their ideas and priorities. Your feedback will help us design a program that meets the needs of today's youth by identifying transportation barriers, academic and cultural interests, scheduling preferences, and other services that matter most to our community. Your responses will also help demonstrate community need as we pursue funding and partnerships to make this program possible. Together, we can build an after-school program that supports student success, strengthens cultural connections, and creates new opportunities for Indigenous youth and families. We hope you'll take a few minutes to complete our survey and be part of shaping its future.

Scan the QR code or visit the link below to complete the survey. Every response helps us better understand our community's needs and brings us one step closer to making this program a reality. Link: https://forms.gle/4XAtntJ215ddvP5C7

Dear LIFE Center Families, Friends, and Community Partners,

We hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer! As we reflect on the past month, we are filled with gratitude for another successful P'eleen Boos (Our Place) Cultural Immersion Camp. Thanks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, elders, cultural presenters, families, and community partners, our youth experienced four unforgettable days of cultural learning, outdoor adventures, traditional teachings, and lasting friendships. We are incredibly proud of what our community accomplished together.

As we look ahead, LIFE Center is also exploring the opportunity to reestablish and expand our After School Program to better serve Indigenous youth and families throughout the school year. To help us build a program that reflects our community's needs, we are asking for your feedback through our Community Interest Survey. Your input will help us identify transportation needs, program priorities, and areas of greatest impact while strengthening future funding opportunities. If you haven't already, we encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey—your voice will help shape the future of LIFE Center programming.

Thank you for your continued support and for being an important part of our community. For the After School Program Survey, Please follow the QR Code on the Newsletter or the link here: https://forms.gle/gjRAZsCVRniKaC4x8
