Faculty of the Sharon Music Academy continue to support Ukraine and celebrate Ukrainian culture. You can see the soul of Ukrainian people in their songs. We want to share this with you.
Making music together is the closest you can get to another person. And when you're doing that with your family, it's even more special. It's not just about the performance—it's about the whole process of rehearsing together and connecting on a higher level. That's why "Families in Concert," the annual recital of our family ensembles, is one of our favorite events at Sharon Music Academy.
This year was no exception. We saw so many smiles and happy families, and even the weather joined in on the fun—a rainbow appeared as people left the concert!

It has been a long tradition of the Sharon Music Academy to bring the joy of music to the local senior communities. Nothing else proves to a young musician the importance of music in people’s lives than the glowing smile of an adult or when everybody starts to sing along! Finally, after the long pandemic, SMA students were invited again to perform for the residents of Stony Brook Court in Sharon. And like in the old days, Kendall Davenport, Amanda Li, Norah Farooq, and Soyun Lee brought smiles and joy of music to everyone in the audience. Thanks to Tara Murano, Resident Services Coordinator at Peabody Resident Services, for a delightful afternoon for kids and residents!
Every teacher and school lives vicariously through their students. And imagine how the Music Director of the Sharon Music Academy felt when she learned that our 2022 graduate, Michael Karshis, was chosen as 2021 Young Artist of the Year by the Steinway Society of Massachusetts. Excited, proud, happy! You can read about Michael’s brilliant music career on the Steinway Society website:

And this wonderful news came on the heels of another great news – Michael was accepted to West Point! Another great achievement! We always knew that music teaches all the skills a modern warrior requires. Congratulations to Michael and his teacher Tanya Schwartzman!
Sharon Music Academy is proud to have raised over $3000 for the Ukrainian relief effort. We want to thank everyone who was involved in making this a successful event. It was an evening filled with beautiful music for a great cause.
If you did not have a chance to join us in a live concert, you can watch broadcasts by Sharon TV on channel 8 at 5:05pm, Apr 7th, and on Friday, Apr 8th at 1:30 pm.

Nevertheless, there is more to be done. The Ukrainian people still need our support. If you would like to contribute to the cause, below is a partial list of local charities created by one of our performers, Igor Golger.

Sharon Music Academy always believes that music has a special place in human hearts in times of tragedy. And not only does music raises the spirits, but it also has the power to encourage us to do good and love. That’s why, over the years, Sharon Music Academy held many fundraising concerts and events. We supported the children of Chernobyl in the nineties and terminally ill kids during the pandemic in 2021. Today we dedicate our concert and fundraising event to the people of Ukraine. And it has never been as urgent and as personal as today. Three of our teachers and one student have close family members under bombs in Ukraine. You will have a chance to meet and talk to them. Please do come and contribute. We count on you! You can donate or buy tickets online at

A limited amount of tickets will be available at the door.

The phrases “six-years-old” and “Haydn’s sonata” are not usually found in the same sentence. But we can’t avoid it here – six-year-old Katherine plays J.Haydn’s Sonata in F major, XVI:23. Performance at 2020 New England Piano teachers’ Association recital.
