Our October Potter of the Month is one of our newest members, Erin Walter! We asked her, What inspires your pottery?
"I love that pottery is functional and that it’s art. I’m also a hobby photographer and I get much of my inspiration from nature. I found I was taking macro-photos and was mesmerized by things like how a leaf moves or a butterfly flies. So it was a natural move to incorporate some of these images in my pottery."

It's exciting to see the inspiration that our potters are getting from classes and workshops that they have been taking. Lizanne Donegan has been energized at a workshop by Deb Schwartzkopf at Indigo Fire Studio in Watertown this past weekend, and created a great piece!

Happy Mug Shot Monday with a lovely mug by Paula Rothbaum. Paula is one of the co-chairs of our Potters Place Holiday Sale Nov. 20-22 and is doing a great job planning another awesome sale! Meet our October Potter of the Month, Erin Walter! Erin is one of our newest members and a very talented potter. We asked her, What is your ceramics history?
"Lizanne Donegan is my link to pottery and Potters Place. Our daughters are friends. When they were little there was a birthday party and Lizanne gave me a mug. That was the hook. I was pottery curious from then on but art had never really been part of my life. Then another friend retired and we decided to try out pottery. Once I got on the wheel, I was hooked."

Here's a Pottery In Action shot with an amazing slice of cake by Joanne Willoughby on a whimsical lizard plate by Ronda Moody. Ronda is moving away and we are losing her as a member as of Oct. 1. We are really going to miss Ronda’s positive presence, all of her contributions, and her awesome pottery. We wish her the best as she moves forward into her next adventure.
