The hub of the community is the Sharon Springs Central School District (SSCSD) – home of the Spartans. A uniquely small district, it accommodates just under 300 students (pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade) in a single building. The mission of the district is to “educate all students to become healthy, hard-working, honest and respectable citizens, who will value lifelong learning and contribu

te to a global society.”

This mission is carried out by a nurturing, dedicated, and student-first administration and staff, who seek to provide students with positive experiences in the culture that defines SSCSD. We look to leverage this tool increase communication and collaboration with our extensive SSCS "Family." Calling All (Grades 7 - 12) SSCS Spartans Soccer Players!

If you're thinking about playing soccer this fall, now is the perfect time to get ready for the season! Remember, all student-athletes must have a current sports physical before participating, and FREE sports physicals will be offered at SSCS on Thursday, August 13.

As we prepare for another exciting school year (don't worry students, it's still just July), we are incredibly grateful to be part of a community that truly puts students first.

Because of the supportive vision of our Board of Education, who believe every student should have access to the resources they need to take full advantage of every learning opportunity, Sharon Springs CSD will once again provide all essential classroom learning supplies for our students.

This is made possible through the combined efforts of so many people: Our dedicated teachers, who intentionally plan for the materials students need to be successful; our hardworking office staff, who carefully seek out the best bulk purchasing opportunities to ensure responsible stewardship of public funds; and our wonderful students and families, who value these resources and help ensure they are used responsibly throughout the school year.

SSCS will provide the essential supplies needed for learning, including writing utensils, folders, binders, notebooks, paper, classroom technology, tissues, cleaning supplies, and other classroom essentials.

The only item families will need to provide is a backpack. If purchasing a backpack presents a hardship, please don't hesitate to reach out. We will gladly connect you with our Sharing & Caring Program to ensure every student starts the school year ready and confident.

This is just one more example of what makes Sharon Springs special; a community that comes together to remove barriers, support one another, and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

This Fourth of July, we celebrate the enduring ideals of freedom, courage, service, and unity that have shaped our nation for nearly 250 years. We are grateful to the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, our veterans, first responders, and all who have sacrificed to preserve the liberties we enjoy today.

We are especially proud to share this special performance by our SSCS students. Their voices remind us that the future of our nation is bright when we invest in our children, our communities, and the values that bring us together.

🌲 Adventure Awaits This July with the Sharon Springs Recreation Youth Bureau! 🛶🥾☀️

Looking for a fun way to keep your child active and outdoors this summer? Join the Sharon Springs Recreation Youth Bureau for four exciting Thursdays filled with hiking, paddleboarding, swimming, and adventure!

🕘 Parent Drop-Off at SSCS School: 9:00 AM
🕒 Parent Pick-Up at SSCS School: 3:00 PM

Teen Group (Ages 13–18)
📍 Thursday, July 9 – Paddleboarding, hiking & free swim at Glimmerglass
📍 Thursday, July 23 – Hiking & paddleboarding at Minekill

Youth Group (Ages 8–12)
📍 Thursday, July 16 – Paddleboarding, hiking & free swim at Glimmerglass
📍 Thursday, July 30 – Hiking & paddleboarding at Minekill

These trips are a great opportunity for students to enjoy the outdoors, build friendships, and make lasting summer memories!
