LET THE BASSA PEOPLE MAKE THE DECISION FOR GRAND BASSA COUNTY!

I am writing to remind Joseph Nyuman Boakia's ruling party and his party flag bearers to refrain from interfering in the internal politics of Grand Bassa. I will endorse Julia K. Bono for the Superintendent of Grand Bassa County position.

As the people of Bassa, we would like to remind Joseph Nyuman Boakia and his supporters in the Unity Party to attempt something difficult with proper preparation. We have experienced painful moments due to the actions of the Unity Party on several occasions. In 2017, Joseph Nyuman Boika rejected Senator Gbezohngar Findley as a VP candidate and instead chose Emmanuel Nuguay, a son of Margibi County. This decision deeply hurt the Bassa people. The unfriendly actions of the Unity Party, among other issues, led to Joseph Nyuman Boika's significant downfall.

2023 Bassa was again caught up in political turmoil when the Unity Party selected Jeremiah Kpan Koon over Senator Nyonblee K. Lawrence for the VP position. It is now clear that the Unity Party is planning another significant political move in Bassa's territory. We wish to warn our political rescuers to refrain from such interference or face political opposition in Bassa.

Let the Unity Party know we will not tolerate any more political slurs indefinitely. As a member of the Unity Party, a prominent Son of Bassa, and a voice for the voiceless, I urge the Unity Party to allow Grand Bassa to have the political leverage to select their choice. If she meets the requirements, I will endorse Julia K. Bono for the Superintendent of Grand Bassa County position.

Let us all work together toward a better tomorrow for Grand Bassa and Liberia.

Celebrating Christmas Should not be Imposed!

It is essential to acknowledge that celebrating Christmas is a personal choice and should not be imposed on anyone, especially from a religious standpoint. Each individual is free to decide how they wish to celebrate this holiday, whether attending church services, exchanging gifts, or choosing not to participate in any activities related to the holiday. It is crucial to note that the government cannot enforce any religious celebration on individuals, including Christmas, as it is against the law.

Christmas is a widely celebrated holiday that holds significant cultural and religious importance for many people worldwide. It is primarily a Christian holiday commemorating Jesus Christ's birth on December 25th. However, people also celebrate it in various other ways, including those who are not Christian. Some individuals may choose to spend time with their loved ones, while others may prefer to volunteer or donate to those in need.

The holiday season typically involves exchanging gifts and cards, enjoying a festive meal with loved ones, singing carols, and participating in local traditions. Many people also enjoy decorating their homes, attending holiday concerts and shows, and watching holiday films and specials. It is essential to acknowledge and respect the diversity of beliefs and traditions surrounding this holiday and appreciate the joy and goodwill it brings to people worldwide. Dear President-elect:

I trust this message finds you well. As you prepare to assume the presidency of Liberia, I would like to bring to your attention the significant challenges the country faced during the previous administration. These challenges, which include poor management, high debt levels, and minimal achievements, have significantly impacted Liberia's development, and it is crucial to address them comprehensively and urgently.

As a concerned citizen, I request that you present a detailed report within your first hundred days in office that outlines a comprehensive analysis of Liberia's financial situation. This report should include a detailed analysis of current debt levels, revenue streams, and expenditures and propose concrete and achievable economic recovery strategies to enable the country to overcome its current challenges.

I have faith in your experience and ability to lead Liberia to prosperity. Considering Liberia's unique circumstances and challenges, I hope your report provides a clear and detailed roadmap for the country's economic recovery. Additionally, please outline how the government plans to work with the private sector, international partners, and other stakeholders to achieve its goals.

Your commitment to transparency and accountability will be evident in presenting a detailed and comprehensive report. Such an approach will be essential for rebuilding the trust of Liberian citizens and international partners and creating a solid foundation for future progress and prosperity in Liberia.

LAWMAKERS MUST PRIORITIZE HOLISTIC HEALTH COVERAGE.

On his page, Representative Richard Koon has highlighted the valuable services offered by mobile clinics, including general medicine, educational resources, and preventative tests for diseases like malaria. While mobile clinics are essential, it is necessary to consider all available options and identify the best course of action to provide the highest quality of care to those in need.

I am appreciative of Hon. Koon's commitment to this critical cause. However, redirecting efforts to supporting established health facilities could yield more significant results and ensure the sustainability of the overall health plan. Doing so could make healthcare services more accessible to those in need.

As Liberian lawmakers, we are responsible for prioritizing establishing regional health facilities to ensure equitable access to healthcare services for all citizens. It is imperative to note that providing healthcare services is a fundamental human right, and failing to provide such services can result in adverse health outcomes, particularly for those living in rural areas. However, they are a valuable tool for promoting accountability within an organization. Through auditing, areas of improvement can be identified, and corrective measures can be taken to mitigate potential risks. This strengthens the overall governance structure of a business, promoting transparency and instilling confidence in stakeholders. Therefore, it is essential to embrace audits to ensure that your business operates efficiently and ethically.

A comprehensive audit of past government performance is essential for good public sector governance. It helps government organizations achieve accountability, improve operations, and instill confidence among citizens and stakeholders. Although there may be some concerns among current government members and associates about being audited, it is essential to remember that the government auditor's role is to support oversight, insight, and foresight governance responsibilities. The auditor acts as a yardstick that determines whether government entities are fulfilling their duties and serves to detect and deter public corruption. The audit process uses tools such as financial audits, performance audits, and investigation and advisory services to fulfill each of these roles.

Additionally, the government auditor independently assesses government programs, policies, operations, and results, helping decision-makers identify trends and emerging challenges. Foresight helps government entities anticipate and address problems before they arise, leading to transparency and accountability in government. The audit process is essential for building trust in public sector institutions, achieving objectives, meeting goals, and delivering successful results. This perspective on corporate governance in the public sector is based on the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) report titled "Corporate Governance in the Public Sector: A Governing Body Perspective," published in 2001.

The expected audit of the current Liberian government should comprehensively cover all aspects, including local and elected officials, appointed positions, government operatives, and individuals and institutions outside Liberia.
