We would like to extend a congratulations to one of our lead instructors on a well deserved retirement from Upper Darby Fire Department. We all hope he gets to enjoy time with family and traveling. He will still be seen around the training center helping with courses and spreading his knowledge to everyone.
Thank you for all you have done for your community and enjoy retirement!

Today, the Upper Darby Township Fire Department proudly recognizes and congratulates Deputy Chief Mark Morrissey on his well-earned retirement after more than two decades of dedicated career service to our community.

Deputy Chief Morrissey began his career with the Upper Darby Township Fire Department in 2003, after first serving our community for several years as a volunteer firefighter. His commitment, professionalism, and leadership quickly earned the respect of his peers and the citizens he served.

In 2009, Mark was promoted to Captain, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, mentorship, and dedication to the department. In 2021, he was promoted to Deputy Chief, continuing to lead with integrity while helping guide the department through new challenges and opportunities.

Throughout his career, Deputy Chief Morrissey has exemplified the values of the fire service—selfless service, courage, professionalism, and commitment to the people of Upper Darby. Whether responding to emergencies, mentoring firefighters, or leading from the front, his impact on this department and our community will be felt for years to come.

Please join us in thanking Deputy Chief Mark Morrissey for his years of outstanding service and wishing him and his family nothing but health, happiness, and success in this next chapter.

Congratulations on your retirement, Deputy Chief Morrissey, and thank you for your unwavering dedication to the Upper Darby Township Fire Department and the residents you have faithfully served.
