โ€‹If you haven't run into Paul delivering ice or water around town, youโ€™ve almost certainly seen his hard work in action across our community!

โ€‹As the owner of Route 66 Bottling Company, Paul brings that same dedicated work ethic to the Shamrock Rotary Club, where he has been an active member for the past two years. Even though heโ€™s from Wheeler and bleeds black & gold (Go Mustangs), we don't hold that against himโ€”in fact, he does an incredible job of showing up and supporting Shamrock every single day!

โ€‹Paul is the definition of a team playerโ€”always the first to step up and pitch in on whatever project needs doing. His hands-on support is especially vital to the success of our annual flag program year after year.

โ€‹We are incredibly grateful for Paulโ€™s dedication, generosity, and spirit of service. Weโ€™re truly lucky to have him in our club!

I like that I interreact with everyone in the City of Wheeler-from the Mayor & Council members to the department heads and the everyday residents that walk through the door. I have a unique birds eye view on how the city functions. I donโ€™t just file paperwork, I help orchestrate the decisions that shape Wheelerโ€™s future.

The biggest challenge is there is zero room for error when it comes to the statutory deadlines and transparency laws. Missing a posting deadline or mishandling a record isnโ€™t just an administrative slip---it can legally jeopardize a council action or compromise municipal trust.

Iโ€™d tell myself to not wait for the โ€œperfectโ€ moment to take the leap. Step out of your comfort zone, trust your gut and follow your dreams a lot sooner----because the only thing waiting for you on the other side of fear is the life you were actually meant to live.

I joined the Rotary Club of Shamrock because I wanted to move beyond just living in this community and actively play a part in building its future. Whether itโ€™s coming together for the EPIC Day of Service to keep our town beautiful or supporting local projects, Rotary gives me a direct, hands-on way to give back to the place we call home.

Iโ€™m really proud of our Rotary EPIC Day of Service this past May. We did a major cleanup to clear trash and debris from key areas around town, including the Highway 83 and I-40 interchange. It required some real elbow grease, but seeing the immediate, clean transformation of our communityโ€”and doing it alongside a great teamโ€”was incredibly rewarding.

I am a massive fan of hard rock music. Why? Because there is nothing quite like the raw energy, incredible musicianship and the sheer power of a great rock track. For me, itโ€™s the ultimate way to recharge. When you spend your days focused on detailed and structure, putting on some hard rock is the perfect release. Itโ€™s high-energy, unapologetic and gets the adrenaline moving---so donโ€™t be surprised if you catch me completely jamming out when I think no one is looking.

โ€‹As we celebrate Independence Day, we are reminded of the incredible spirit of community, freedom, and service that unites us all. Today is a perfect day to cherish time with family, enjoy the fireworks, and reflect on the blessings of liberty.
