For our last big outing of the school year, Field Trip Committee decided on Six Flags Great Adventure ! The students at SJSS held a lemonade stand to raise funds for this excursion and were able to cut the cost of their park tickets in half! This is one of the best parts of SJSS. The students decided they wanted to do something and used their problem solving skills to make it happen! We can't wait to see what great ideas Field Trip Committee will come up with for next year.

Now that the weather is changing, the staff and older kids decided it was the perfect time for a water fight!! They surprised the younger students and fun was had by School Meeting Members of all ages. If anyone ever questions "How does a school run by children have any rules?", within the first 10 minutes of the water fight the younger students were declaring "We need to make some rules!!". Our students feel empowered by the rules at SJSS because they take part in crafting the motions to create new rules and voting on whether those rules pass or not in School Meeting.
