For the first time in our many years of hosting Fall Feat, we are adding a small trunk or treat. If you’re interested in participating, please let me know. We will provide the goodies!

We are also taking donations for the games. Any kind of small toys, candy or treats are great!

We started a new tradition for this school year!

The Teacher Treat Trolley. 🛒

We kicked it off on the first day of school and our teacher workday with ice cream, name tags, and lots of teacher goodies — and today was our first monthly Teacher Cart hosted by our teachers! Each classroom was given a month, spending money and subs to watch their class while they serve! 💙

Miss Autumn, Miss Megan, and Miss Lateasha knocked it out of the park serving hot dogs, dirty sodas, and some pretty fun superlatives to our FKO crew! 🌭🥤😂

We love finding little ways to make work fun and celebrate the people who make FKO so special. ❤️

Can’t wait to see what next month’s crew comes up with! Sad I wasn’t there to take more pictures! 🛒✨

We had the coolest Friday in 4A!

Flock Sorting Day was a special day filled with excitement,friendship,and a little bit of magic!🪿🦢🦆

Mother Goose left our class a magical story explaining the meaning and importance of Flock Sorting Day. Each child chose a golden egg and discovered a magical feather inside. The color of their feather helped determine which flock they would join.

Our Goose Flock💛 (Yellow Team) represents Leadership.
Our Swan Flock💙 (Royal Blue Team) represents Kindness.
Our Duck Flock💚(Emerald Green Team) represents Teamwork.

Through our flock system, children will learn that although we may belong to different flocks, we are all part of one classroom family—different feathers, one pond! 🪶💛💙💚

At ELLA, we believe in the power of storytelling because every story matters.

Every child walks into the classroom carrying a story of their own. A story shaped by their experiences, their family, their culture, their dreams, their current circumstances, and their emotional well-being. Sometimes, we may not know what a child had to overcome just to make it through the school doors that morning.

No child should ever fear going to school.

Every child deserves to walk into a classroom and feel seen, heard, safe, supported, valued, and loved. They deserve educators and communities that recognize that who they are and what they carry with them matters.

A classroom should be more than a place to learn. It should be a place where children feel they belong, where their voices matter, where their potential is recognized, and where they are given the opportunity to grow into who they are meant to become.

Happy new school season to every child, family, educator, and school community.

May every child be given the space, encouragement, compassion, and opportunity to blossom. 🌱❤️

Today, Heather Coley, Owner, and Phoenix Waters, Curriculum Director, had the opportunity to represent For Kids Only ELC at the 2nd annual Classroom to Careers event at The COAST!

One of the best parts of the day was meeting and talking with so many young people who are currently taking classes in Early Childhood Development. It was so encouraging to see the next generation showing an interest in a field that means so much to us.

We loved having the opportunity to share a little about what we do at FKO, answer questions, and hopefully encourage some future early childhood educators along the way!

We are so proud to be invited to this event to talk about a profession that has such an incredible impact on the lives of children alongside so many wonderful other childcare professionals! 🥰📚💕

💕📚 Read Across For Kids Only Day 📚💕

Today was absolutely amazing! We read, we played, we laughed, and we celebrated Dolly and her incredible love for children and books. There was LOTS of pink and plenty of Dolly shirts everywhere! 💗📚

The children each made their own butterfly, and seeing them all hanging from our hallway ceiling made my heart so happy. 🦋 There was just something so special about walking underneath all of those little creations and knowing every single one was made by one of our sweet FKO babies. 💕

A huge thank you to our special volunteer readers who took time out of their day to celebrate with us and love on our kiddos!

💕 Vickie Smith — Board of Education Member and former principal of Union Elementary School, where the sun is always shining! 🐬☀️

💕 Jake Griffiths — NC Pre-K representative with Smart Start of Brunswick County.

💕 Jerome Munna — Owner of The Sign Shoppe and used to walk our halls daily as one of our previous FKO families.

💕 Polly Russ —Member of the Board of Directors of Smart Start, Chairman of the NC Pre-K Committee of Smart Start and she is President of the South Brunswick Islands Woman’s Club.

💕 Carla Gregory — Evaluator and Mentor with the NC Early Educator Support Program and a former teacher with our FKO family.

💕 Jenni Carsrud — Lutheran Services Carolinas Foster Care, who also brought the sweetest goodies for our staff!

💕Kathryn Williams-one of our wonderful parents.

💕Patty Lankford- the mother in law of one of our wonderful NC PreK teachers.

💕 And six precious students from the FFA program at West Brunswick High School who came and shared their time with our little ones. Seeing big kids reading to little kids was pretty special. 💗

I truly can’t imagine a better way to celebrate a life that has touched all of us in some way. Dolly gave so much to children, especially through her love of books and reading, and today felt like the perfect way for our little FKO family to honor that. 🦋📚💕

We’ll keep reading. We’ll keep learning. And we’ll always remember the difference she made.
