This week the kids learned about Compassion International - a Christian charity that seeks to fight child poverty by providing food, medical care, and protection from harm. A goal to raise $50 was set for this week. If the kids could raise that amount, then Pastor Willard would get whipped cream smashed in his face! The kids did a wonderful job and surpassed their goal by raising $62.26, which will all be donated to the Compassion International Charity. Since they surpassed their goal, they got their reward!

VBS Day Four: Squirrels
The kids learned how squirrels jump very far just like how the lame man in Acts 3 was healed and leaped for joy and praised God! They did a relay race outside practicing team work and then played some Duck Duck Goose. They decorated crosses and practiced their Bible songs (will be performed this Sunday during service)! We then recapped the week on everything they learned. Praise God for working in their hearts this blessed week! And a HUGE thank you to everyone who put in the hard work of creating the program, teaching it, and those who helped with food, games, and crafts as well! Your time and devotion to teaching these sweet kids about Jesus is so so appreciated!!!

VBS Day Three: Eagle!
Today the kids learned all about eagles. They talked about the ways that God cares for us. We played “Miriam Says”, ate a snack, finished our tambourines, and then used them to dance to our Bible song! They finished the day by learning the actions to the next verse and reciting their memory verse of the day for prizes.

VBS Day Two: Turtles!
Today the kids learned how turtles hibernate and “come back alive” after winter, similar to how Jesus died and rose again! They learned about Job and all his calamities and how God makes all things new - even after all he had been through God brought restoration to his life.

Then the kids searched for our daily Bible verse puzzle pieces and put everything together to learn it. Ephesians 2:8-9 is today’s verse, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

They had game time, next. Today’s game was “calamities”. The kids tried to get balloons (calamities) to hit the floor of the opponent’s side and score as many calamities as they could against the opposing team.

Then they had snacks, made a turtle puppet, learned the next verse of their song, and recited today’s verse for a prize! It was another lovely day watching the kids learn so much about God!
