Yesterday was Purim, the festival of lots! Students have been learning about Purim and how good overcame bad and the Jewish people were saved. We learned about staying focused, making sure we choose our friends wisely, and the four mitzvot (good deeds) of Purim: to give to the poor, to give a treat bag to at least one person to increase their joy for the holiday, to hear Megillas Esther (the book of Esther), and have a Seudat (festive meal). Students enjoyed Hamentashen (Purim cookies) at lunch and received treat bags after the Frozen-themed Purim Spiel in the afternoon. Purim Sameach...Happy Purim from Ratner!

DINNER IN THE SUKKAH: SUNDAY OCTOBER 13th, 5:30-7:00 PM
Join jHUB and the Ratner School for a festive meal for the first night of Sukkot in the sukkah with new and old friends. There will be craft decorations for all to make as we learn about the holiday and take part in some of the traditons.
The main meal and drinks will be provided, please bring a side dish or dessert to share with the group and enjoy a relaxed festive evening in the sukkah!
