When children go through a spray park, they process the experience as a magical, sensory wonderland. Rather than thinking about staying cool, their brains are engaged in pure discovery—testing cause and effect, experimenting with their physical movements, and responding to the exciting unpredictability of the water.

When toddlers play with a toy barn, they aren't just passing time—they are exploring a miniature world where animals have personalities, causes have effects, and they are fully in charge. Through this pretend play, they practice building language, motor skills, and an early understanding of empathy.
