The Mercer PTO is excited to host our Spring Service Project: a Canned Food Drive! This is a great opportunity for our students and families to help local families in need.
Families are invited to send non-perishable food or household items to school with their child. Collection boxes will be outside every classroom, so donating is easy!
Here are some items that are especially helpful (please do not include expired items):
• Canned vegetables, fruit, or beans
• Soup
• Boxed meals
• Pasta and pasta sauce
• Rice
• Cereal
• Peanut butter
• Canned tuna or chicken
• Applesauce
• Toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Soap
• Diapers
• Baby wipes
• Feminine Hygiene Products
Every donation—big or small—helps show kindness and care for our community.
Our service project is part of Kindness Spirit Week! Students can show how caring they are by joining in one of our fun daily themes:
❤️ Monday 2/9 – Caring Day: Wear a red shirt or one with kind words.
🎀 Tuesday 2/10 – Kindness Ties Us Together: Wear a bow or tie.
🏀⚽ Wednesday 2/11 – Team Up for Kindness: Wear your favorite sports team gear.
😴 Thursday 2/12 – Dreaming of Kindness: Wear your best pajamas.
Thank you for helping Mercer students make a difference!

Friday, January 30 marked Mrs. Stephanie Stamm’s last day as our beloved Library Tech after more than 20 years of dedicated service to the Mercer community. Throughout her time here, Mrs. Stamm instilled a love of reading in countless students and touched generations of Meerkats. In true Mercer fashion, every student and staff member lined the halls to clap our Meerkat out while joyfully singing “Three Cheers.”
Mrs. Stamm, thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students, your love of books, and the lasting impact you’ve made on our community. We wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement—farewell and thank you! 🐾📖

As an IB World School, we strive to teach our students to live the Learner Profile. This means we take action and are reflective and care about each other and the world around us. To support our IB Mission in our own community, our student participated in a Stuff the Bus Event to support Sub Zero Mission on Veteran's Day.

Students in the fall session of the Meerkat Club gathered on Wednesday after school for a service project to Support Trials for Hope, a non-profit that provides essentials to unsheltered Clevelanders. The children assembled hygiene kits and created cards and no sew blankets to be distributed to people currently experiencing homelessness.
