Olive Stephens Elementary Olive Stephens Elementary's mission is to build a community of learners for life. All posts will be consistent with Denton ISD's policies and guidelines.

Opened in 2008, our school is named after Olive Stephens, who served the town of Shady Shores as mayor for nearly four decades. We believe that ensuring high levels of success for all students requires a collaborative effort between staff, parents, students, and community members. We are thankful for the continued support of all of our stakeholders as we "build a community of learners for life!"
We are committed to working together with our parents and community members to ensure high levels of learning for all students.

Mrs. Fetterman and Mrs. Jackson have created Camp Read-A-Lot—where learning feels like an adventure! Students are reading in tents, listening to stories by flashlight, exploring heat transfer with s’mores, and solving camping-themed word problems. 🔦📖🔥🍫➗
This is what happens when teachers turn learning into an experience! Stephens teachers are truly making magic happen! 💙🐾

Officer Lamendola shows us that sometimes the biggest impact comes from simply walking alongside our kids. Thank you for being a safe, caring presence and showing our Bulldogs that connection comes first! 🐾💙

🏕️✨ Camp Day in 3rd Grade! ✨🏕️

We had the BEST time camping at school! 📚🔦 We read by flashlight, spent time hanging out in our tent, and became little scientists as we put together graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. Then we took our creations outside, observed the changes, and—of course—enjoyed the yummy treat! 😋🍫🔥

Learning + experimenting + a little camping fun = the perfect day! ❤️🏕️

🎨🎶 Celebrating Arts in Education Week! 🎶🎨

At Stephens, we know learning isn’t just about what’s on the page. It’s also about creating, imagining, and expressing yourself! 💙✨

This week, we celebrated the creativity, expression, and joy that the arts bring to our students’ learning with the help of our amazing educators!🤩

We’re so thankful for Mrs. Kinnaird and Ms. Greene, who bring music and art to life for our Bulldogs and give our students space to let their creativity shine! 🐾🎨🎵

🎉🐾 THE PRIZE PATROL CAME TO STEPHENS! 🐾🎉
We were thrilled to celebrate two amazing educators receiving grants from the Denton Public School Foundation!
📚 Congratulations to our amazing librarian, Ms. Harvey! Her grant will bring in new manga and high-interest nonfiction books requested by our students-helping spark a love of reading for even our most reluctant readers!
🎓 Congratulations to Ms. Greene! Her grant will support her journey toward a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership. We are so proud of educators who continue to grow and invest in themselves and their students!

A HUGE thank you to the Denton Public School Foundation for investing in our educators and our Bulldogs! 🐾💙
