Fort Vallonia Days
After much thought and careful consideration, the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Fort Vallonia Days festival.
With the current restrictions on mass gatherings and the unknown of what may happen between now and October, the Ft Vallonia Festival Committee and Ft Vallonia Days Board of Directors all agree that cancelling the festival is in the best interest of our volunteers, vendors, and patrons.
We look forward to having a wonderful festival next year. We'll see you the Third Weekend in October-2021!

Jeff Driggs' Doubletoe Times Clogging Magazine and Events
In the past, we have shared the story of Florida clogger Jerry Hall, II, a 22 year old young man from Florida whose bravery and positivity in the face of cystic fibrosis has inspired so many people.
Sadly, Jerry lost the battle yesterday. His family was currently in the process of selling their home and possessions and was working to move to another state to seek better treatment when Jerry’s lungs just gave up. My heart is broken for his family.
I (Jeff Driggs) first was introduced to Jerry when he wrote a message to the Double Toe Times magazine several years ago telling me his story of cystic fibrosis and how much clogging had helped him and how much he enjoyed reading the stories of cloggers in the news.
A correspondence began with Jerry and his amazing Mom – Rose Hall – and with the help of Naomi Pyle and Jeff Wood, we arranged for them to attend a clogging workshop in Florida. Jerry was so happy. The South Florida Cloggers dedicated their exhibition to him and a whole new group of friends welcomed them to this crazy clogging family that we are.
Through the years, I have grown to admire this young man so much. Dealt a difficult health journey, Jerry faced it with courage and compassion for others and chose to live a full life. He was a clogger, an artist, a fan of horror movies, a cosplay crusader and a lifelong power ranger.
Even as he navigated through the trials of his illness, Jerry took the time to reach out to others to see how they were doing and offered his friendship, love and support.
There is a quote that says “Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.”
Jerry’s name will be forever etched on my heart and the hearts of so many people he touched in his short but so meaningful life.

[02/28/19] Denise Lee Any idea when classes start?
For nearly half a century, 91-year-old clogger and choreographer Julia Tourtellotte’s feet have been dancing to the tempo of her favorite Gospel and country tunes. The New York native, now living in Summerville, South Carolina, recently returned to teaching her weekly classes after recovering from spinal surgery. The great-great grandmother plans to keep on toe tapping—without tapping out—for years to come. “I plan to dance as long as I can; I’m not quitting,” she said.
[01/29/19] After sitting out entire season for school, I think I’m ready for some Clogging!
