Today we read the book "Just Like Me" about a bear who talked about all the characteristics he wanted in his life..
Kind, loving, clever and funny like his mom and be tall like her too. Then we talked about the sound B makes and made a list of B words, looked around the room for things that start with B..Baby, book, bag, and ball.

Then we sang " Bringing Home A Baby Bumble Bee" " Going on a Bear Hunt" then we went on a bear hunt and found a bear...pictures to follow.. Mr. L my one year and younger Mr. L my 7 month old joined in singing and moving to the songs and went on the bear hunt.

Fun ways to learn letter sounds, vocabulary, social skills, problem solving..the bear was lost we had to find him.. 😀 and large and fine motor skills.

I wanted to share that on Friday the little guy 6 months old that I watch along with other children,,,we read the story "Get Well,Clown Arounds" and talked about what the cover of the book tells us, predicting what we thought the book might be about before we read it, talking about the colors we see on the pages, and the shapes...then we chose where we wanted to play playdough, housekeeping and dress up, coloring and drawing, puzzles or cutting and gluing and how many could play in that area

All of these things give great practice on building social skills, find and large motor skills. pre-reading skills and builds love of reading, taking turns, vocabulary skills and so many other ways to learn while you play.

I am looking forward to our sweet little guy coming soon..He is so precious and we all love him so much. His mom has started him on solids and he is loving it..even loves watching us eating our food when we all sit down together to eat...family style meals at Rays of His Sonshine Childcare and Learning Home.

Yesterday Miss Jazzy was our only one here...she and I colored together snd practiced our songs for the Christmas play at church and talked about who her friends were at school she likes to play with...she is such a sweet and beautiful girl and we all just love her...she also had fun on Saturday helping Sam with the train around the Christmas tree.

Yesterday Miss Lizzy was my only one in childcare and she went with me to my eye appt.in Marshfield to see about new glasses.

She was so much fun to talk to..We talked about things we saw along the way and while we were waiting for me to see the doctor.. She would ask me a question and I would respond with a question to get her thinking...Well why do you think? What do you think that bird has that in his mouth? All good ways to build on her vocabulary and get her thinking...although Miss Lizzy at 4 years old is very good in this area.

Lizzy and I were reading "Llama, Llama Red Pajama"

Me:: Do you really want to know what happens next?

Lizzy-- Yes

Me--' really??

Lizzy-- yes!

Me:: Are you sure you want to know?

Lizzy--' reaches for the page and says in exasperation "just turn the page!"

I love kids books and reading to them.

We are making plans around here for Thanksgiving and Christmas break and we still have spots available.

Today Lizzy and I were solo so we made a trip to McDonalds, came home, played with playdough, practiced cutting by finding pictures we like in old newspapers and xplore magazines, the children's MO conservation magazine and now getting ready to read "Llama, Llama, Red Pajama".
