Freshman Harlen Schneider has been nominated as a Class Act Cougar for demonstrating our Trinity value of Caring Community.

After Monday night’s football game at Milan, a Milan parent took the time to find Trinity’s page and reach out with a compliment about Harlen and the way he interacted with a Milan player.

Harlen was encouraging and complimentary toward his opponent, making such a positive impression that the player and his family remembered him after the game.

That’s what being a Class Act Cougar is all about: showing kindness, encouraging others, and treating people with respect, even when they’re on the other side of the field.

Harlen, thank you for representing Trinity so well! We are proud of you!

This spotlight features Jackson County high school students who participate in an internship or Work-Based Learning.

Marley Warren, a senior at Trinity Lutheran High School, is doing an internship at Reedy Insurance Services in Seymour.

How long have you worked there?
Since August 2026

What is your job title or role?
Intern

What are your responsibilities?
Scan documents, answer phone calls and do any extra tasks that are needed of me.

What do you like about what you get to do?
I like to learn about the ways insurance works and getting hands-on experience.

How often are you there?
Five days a week, three hours per day.

How do you benefit from the internship?
I get to learn how to maintain a business and keep customers happy. I also get to witness day-to-day interactions with customers and learn how an insurance company operates.

What would you say to other students to encourage them to do an internship or Work-Based Learning?
I would encourage anyone with the chance to do Work-Based Learning to take the opportunity in order to get an idea of what they may or may not want to do for their career. It also provides a good experience into the real world and a work-like environment that isn’t experienced at school.

What else are you involved in at school?
Basketball, student council and National Honor Society

What are your plans after high school?
To attend McKendree University to play basketball and get my degree in business administration.

Congratulations to sophomore Wyatt Huff, this week’s Class Act Cougar!

Wyatt was nominated by Mr. Overgaard for demonstrating three of Trinity’s core values:

Christ-Centered — Demonstrates faith in action and models Christian values.
Excellence — Shows outstanding academic effort or achievement.
Caring Community — Encourages, supports, and uplifts peers.

Mr. Overgaard shared, “Wyatt is a very talented athlete, but his positive impact on Trinity goes well beyond that. This week alone I’ve watched Wyatt show genuine care for several members of the Trinity family. One of the best aspects of Trinity is our community. I’m proud to have students like Wyatt walking the halls of Trinity Lutheran!”

Wyatt, thank you for being a great example of what it means to be a Class Act Cougar! We are proud to have you as part of the Trinity family!
