Fern Hollow Nature Center There is so much to discover, learn and explore! The Fern Hollow Nature Center is a place where individuals, groups and families can come to enjoy the outdoors.

At Fern Hollow Nature Center, our mission is to inspire people of all ages to connect with nature through hands-on education and exploration of the Sewickley Valley parks. It is also the gateway to the area park system. Educational programs are both organized and spontaneous and are aimed at helping children and adults understand and appreciate the environment. The Nature Center welcomes the public and is an accessible facility. There is an indoor assembly area which will accommodate 40 people, a catering kitchen and two restrooms. Immediately adjacent to the Center is a small parking area. Outdoors, there is a plateau – an ideal place for camping, football, kite flying or star gazing. There is a sloping field with paths for walking, sledding, bird watching and observing insects. Within a short distance, is the vast Sewickley Heights Borough Park and various creeks, such as Fern Hollow and Little Sewickley Creek.

Live music, fall leaves and your favorite people. Don't just make memories this Saturday, TAKE ONE HOME!

We've teamed up with for quick 5-minute family photo sessions on our beautiful grounds, from 5–6pm. Each session is $25 per grouping/family and includes 1 digital image. There are only 12 spots, so scan the QR code on the post or message @ to book before they're gone!

This Saturday, watch art happen live at Fern Hollow!

Sewickley artist Claire Hardy is joining our Fall Music Festival to paint from 4pm til dark. She’ll also reveal new works from her summer of painting around Sewickley, and proceeds from her art sales go to support Fern Hollow Nature Center. 💚

Come for the music, and stay for the food trucks, kids’ activities and more, with a painting coming to life as the sun goes down. 🌅🎶
