Just a few more success stories before we officially put February's behind us. Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT)'s Melinda Coates used her focused education in cosmetology to enter the field with force. She has balanced working behind the chair and managing, moving from overseeing a chain of salons to now owning her own business, K&M Barbering Den in Turnersville.

GCIT is accepting alumni nominations for the 2024 Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) Wall of Fame. Anyone, including the public, can submit a nomination form. The deadline is February 15, 2024. Please complete the online form for an alumnus that you feel has distinguished themselves in the areas of leadership, character, achievement, service, suitability as a role-model, and/or contributions to career and technical education. The GCIT CTSO's Wall of Fame's purpose is to recognize exceptional alumni and the business partner of the year. Each year a selection committee chooses who will be honored for exemplifying the vision of the school district.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the 21st Annual GCIT Golf Classic! The money raised through this event is used to support students who qualify for state and national level SkillsUSA competitions, so they participate in competitions across the country. A special thank you to teachers and SkillsUSA advisors, Karen Grant, and Daniel Roskiewich, for their hard work to make this event a success.

It is with a heavy heart, but Andrew Matter, son of Mrs. Matter - Latin/English teacher, has died. Andrew graduated in the Class of 2022 from Culinary and Law Enforcement. He was employed as a lifeguard at GCIT; while attending RCSJ. Please keep Mrs. Matter and her family and your prayers.

On Saturday, March 18, there will be a badminton tournament to benefit Ms. Bryant held here at GCIT from 11am to 4 pm. Price of admission is $5, come out and visit the school, some 'old' teachers and support Ms. Bryant.
