Orchard Valley Middle School celebrated the winding down of the 2025-26 school year with a Farewell Dance on Friday, June 12th. Nearly 200 students attended and enjoyed dancing, a Photo Booth and fun with their friends!

The Washington Township School District and the Food Bank of South Jersey will be holding their food bank distribution on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The monthly distribution is free and available to district families and community members*. If you are in need of assistance, please join us between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

The distribution will be held at the Washington Township Municipal Building located at 523 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell. Please enter at the back of the building. See the photo attached which includes a picture for entrance location.

*Must be a resident of New Jersey to attend.

Experience the magic of theatre with Washington Township Theatre’s third annual Summer Theatre Camp! From July 7-9, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon at Washington Township High School, WTHS Theatre will be providing young performers the opportunity to ignite creativity and confidence, while also providing them with a safe and supportive environment to explore theatre performance.

**Please note that the Summer Camp is only running for THREE days this year due to the building being closed on Monday, July 6th, in observance of Independence Day!**

Cost is $100 and includes:

- Camp t-shirt
- Workshops and activities
- Showcase on the final day

The Orchard Valley Middle School Interact Club held a Lemonade Stand on Friday, June 12th. Coordinated by club officers Shayla Campbell, Finn Morett, and Alice Mullin, the event raised more than $100 which will be donated to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Chestnut Ridge Middle School principal Theresa Pietrowski proudly announced the school’s Students of the Month for May 2026. Congratulations to the following students for demonstrating Razorback Respect and HUSTLE-ing every day:

Last Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Class of 2026 Honors Graduate Karen Cao was recognized by the New Jersey Board of Education for her outstanding work as a student at Washington Township High School.

Karen was nominated for this honor by Superintendent Dr. Eric Hibbs, Principal Ray Anderson, and school counselor Sandy Stockl. She went on to be selected by the county superintendent to represent all of Gloucester County at a special awards presentation at the New Jersey Department of Education in Trenton.

Karen was honored with students from various New Jersey counties for their amazing contributions to society and to our school communities.

Grenloch Terrace Early Childhood Center preschool teachers Mrs. Necowitz, Mrs. Barbara, Mrs. Walton, Mrs. Pagan, Ms. Hackney, and Mrs. Tistan had a water day full fun to go along with the Water Study for the Creative Curriculum!

Washington Township Elementary School students recently became big winners in the Beable program's Spring Power Up Contest.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth-grader Aayan Mahmud was named a first-place worldwide winner, while over at Bells Elementary, fifth-grader Aaron Parcouda was a third-place worldwide winner in the May round of the Spring Power Up Contest!

Aaron and Aayan competed against more than 100,000 students nationwide to win!

Beable Literacy is a K-12 “career-connected” digital literacy platform that combines reading acceleration with career exploration and personal growth. It uses the BeableIQ engine to personalize content at individual reading levels in English/Spanish, helping students gain literacy skills while connecting them to potential careers.

WEDGWOOD CROWNS NEW 24 GAME TOURNAMENT CHAMPION

James Schussler, a fifth-grade student in Mrs. Donna McGough's class, won the 13th annual Wedgwood School 24 Game Championship Tournament, defeating three fourth-graders in a tight match that came down to the very last card.

Schussler provided quick mental math solutions to win the 24 Game Championship by a score of 8-7, holding on to defeat Daisy Chen, a fourth-grader in Mrs. Kristin Haines’ class. Aisha Antoine, a fourth-grade student in Mrs. Lisa Mills’ class, came in third place with 5 points, while fourth-grader Frank Spadafore, from Mrs. Heather Ritchie’s class, rounded out the championship round finalists.

Schussler received a LEGO trophy built by Math Specialist Mr. Domenick Renzi, a 24 Game Champion T-shirt, and the 24 Game gold medal. Chen received the second-place silver medal and a pack of 24 Game cards. Both students proudly wore their medals for all to admire.

The 24 Game is a card game in which the object is to manipulate four integers so that the end result is 24. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and/or division may be used to make the four digits equal 24. Wedgwood fourth- and fifth-graders have been practicing the 24 Game for several months. Each classroom recently held its own competition, with the top two finishers from each room advancing to Wednesday’s championship tournament. The semifinals, featuring 16 Wedgwood students, were held earlier in the day.
