Sewanee Parent PLUS Loan Checklist

1. Annually file the FAFSA for appropriate academic year
2. Annually apply for the loan at studentaid.gov
3. First time parent borrower? Complete the PLUS Master Prom Note at studentaid.gov (only required once)
4. Annually the student must accept or decline their own federal loans on Banner Self-Service

Can I opt-out of the First Day® Complete book program?
Students have the option to opt-out each semester during the opt-out window. For 2026 Advent Semester the opt-out window is July 27, 2026, through September 22, 2026. By opting out, students will not receive their required materials in a convenient package and access to digital content will be removed after the opt-out window closes.
