Congrats to alumna Sarah McHan

Sarah McHan is a versatile performer of operatic, concert, and musical theatre repertoire.
This past spring, she sang nearly 100 performances as the Queen of the Night in The Atlanta Opera Studio Tour production of The Magic Flute, which toured across Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Over the summer, she reprised her Queen of the Night with the Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center. She holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Georgia Southern University, where she studied under Allen Henderson. Sarah is currently a first year M.M. student at Louisiana State University, studying under Lindsay Kate Brown.
In 2025, Sarah won 1st Place in the Atlanta Music Club scholarship competition and received a grant from the James Barnett Foundation. In 2024, she was honored to receive 3rd Place in her category at the NATS National Student Auditions and be named a finalist in Mobile Opera’s Madame Rose Palmai-Tenser competition. Other notable roles include Johanna (Sweeney Todd), Amy March (Little Women), Sister Constance (Dialogues of the Carmelites), La Fée (Viardot’s Cendrillon), Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore), and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro). Sarah is thrilled to make her Opéra Louisiane debut singing in the “Over the Top!” Coloratura Concert.
