Alliance Health Education Initiative AHEI is a 501(c)(3) public charity for health education-oriented groups interested in seeking grants to help fund health projects within their communities.

AHEI also welcomes donations to help us help others. Donations to AHEI are tax-deductible. Funds raised are distributed annually in the form of grants, which you can read more about on our website. To date, AHEI has awarded close to $40,000 in grants to health related nonprofits across the country.

September 17th is National Physician Su***de Awareness Day

Today is dedicated to honoring the memory of physicians who have died by su***de and to continuing to raise awareness and discussion about how to prevent it. It also serves as a reminder that su***de can affect us, our friends, and our colleagues.

The risk of physician su***de is 2.27 times higher among women and 1.41 times higher among men than in the general population.

🌱 Planting Seeds for the Future 🌱

We are getting so close.

Through the generosity of friends and supporters, $3,055 has been raised toward the $5,000 goal for the Dr. Larry Wellman Legacy Fundraiser. Just $1,945 remains.

Dr. Wellman was a pediatric neonatologist, mentor, and dedicated educator whose influence extended across five generations of physicians. He was also the beloved husband of AHEI member Grace Wellman.

This legacy fundraiser honors a life devoted to caring for children and helping prepare those who would care for generations to come.

Funds raised will support AHEI health grants benefiting pediatric-related projects and medical student health projects—allowing Dr. Wellman’s commitment to children, medicine, and education to continue making a difference.
