πŸ“’ Attendance Awareness Month Update! πŸ“’

Sherman High School students are stepping up and showing that attendance matters!

βœ… Week 1: 188 students achieved perfect attendance
βœ… Week 2: 200 students achieved perfect attendance

That's an increase of 12 students in just one week! We are proud of the effort our students are making to be present, engaged, and ready to learn each day.

πŸŽ‰ We have already awarded two $25 gift cards to students with perfect attendance, and we still have two more gift cards to give away before the month is over!

Remember, every student with perfect attendance for the week earns an entry into that week's drawing. If you missed a day before, don't worry. Each week is a new opportunity to qualify.

πŸ’™ Keep showing up.
πŸ’› Keep working hard.
🎁 Keep earning your chance to win!

The 2027 West Virginia School Service Personnel of the Year is…

Lisa Cook from Boone County! πŸŽ‰

Lisa Cook, a bus driver for Boone County Schools, is the 2027 West Virginia School Service Personnel of the Yearβ€”the first winner from our Champions of Learning Gala this evening! πŸŽ‰

Lisa is known for creating a safe and welcoming environment for students as they begin the school day and before they go home. She goes beyond transportation by building meaningful relationships with students and encourages positive behavior, which is one of many ways she exemplifies what it means to be school service personnel. ✏️

πŸ“š September is Attendance Awareness Month! πŸŽ‰

To kick off Sherman High School's Attendance Awareness Campaign, we will be holding a $25 gift card drawing every Friday throughout September!

Here's how it works:

βœ… Attend school every day during the week.
βœ… If you have no absences that week, your name will be entered into that Friday's drawing.
βœ… One winner will be selected from a random drawing each Friday to receive a $25 gift card.

Miss a day? Don't worry! Every week is a new opportunity. If you're absent one week, you can still qualify for the following week's drawing by having perfect attendance.

Let's make attendance a priority and start the year strong. Show up, stay engaged, and you could win!
