Lots of pictures here! (Part 2)

I don’t post a lot about what we do here in the shop at SB-L mainly because I don’t like to feel like I’m bragging. But I do feel it is good to show you what our students have done this year, what they have accomplished, and how hard they have worked all year!

We offer a lot of different Industrial tech classes at SB-L (8 different classes that I teach in a year with multiple sections) and these students get a lot done each year, as u will see from the pictures!

Construction classes built two big decks inside our storage building at the sports complex. They were used for storing the high jump mats!

They, also, learned about concrete and poured their own stepping stones while learning about how different amounts of water can affect the strength of the concrete!

And the went to Build my Future event and broke the record for the fastest lite form build!

Engineering classes spent weeks designing metal art that was cut out using our amazing Plasma table. (Keep your eyes open next year as we plan to sell these items and form a school business out of it). They also finished putting warrior heads on all the staff’s doors. And they took a marketing class design and created a sign for their Spirit Spot coffee shop!

Welding competed in several competitions…placed in top 5 in all of them. We even had one student go clear to Wyoming for a competition, he placed 17th out of 360 (and he forgot to do an entire weld!), so that shows you the level these students are welding at!

Welding class built a giant custom chicken tractor / cage for a local farmer. Special projects for customers will, also, be something we are adding to our program next year! So if you have an idea, let our engineers design it and our welders build it for you!

We put new fenders on a trailer for a customer as well!

Small engines fixed several lawnmowers, tillers, and snow blowers for customers throughout the year. They are began working on a 1980 Ford bronco that a student brought in. They pulled the engine and got it ready to be rebuilt before the year ended!

Our engineers, shop, and students are very busy throughout the year and these are just a few of the many many things they get to do and be a part of all year long! This year was a great year and looking forward to bigger and better next year!
