Today is National School Custodian Appreciation Day, and we are celebrating the people who do so much behind the scenes to keep our schools running smoothly.

From early mornings to late afternoons, our custodians care for the spaces where students learn, staff work, and our school communities come together. Thank you for the care you put into your work every day and for helping make our schools places where everyone feels welcome. We appreciate you!

October is Disability History & Awareness Month.

This month, we recognize the history, experiences, contributions, and voices of people with disabilities. In our schools and our community, we are committed to creating spaces where every student feels seen, valued, included, and able to participate fully.

Disability awareness is about more than one month. It is about learning, listening, removing barriers, and making sure every person has the opportunity to belong.

Behind every thriving school is a principal who leads with heart, purpose, and a commitment to students.

This National Principals Month, we’re celebrating the incredible leaders who serve our schools and students every day. From supporting staff and families to cheering on students, navigating challenges, celebrating successes, and showing up for the moments that matter, our principals play such an important role in making our schools places where students can learn, grow, and belong.

Please join us in celebrating:

--> Greywolf Elementary: Jennifer Lopez & Tami Ota
--> Helen Haller Elementary: Becky Stanton & Jami Carbray
--> Olympic Peninsula Academy & Dungeness Virtual School: Gary Pringle
--> Sequim Middle School: Kristen Lunt & Zane Laughbon Olmsted
--> Sequim High School: Erin Fox & Robby Fox

Thank you for leading with heart, investing in people, and always keeping students at the center. We are grateful for each of you!

We need your help, we are so close to our goal! Join us in reaching our goal of 1,000 Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) Applications!

Even though school meals are at no cost for families, completing the CNEEB Application is one of the most important ways you can support our students and schools.

Completing the application may help provide:
✅ College Bound Scholarship eligibility
✅ Reduced fees for sports, ASB, Running Start, and more
✅ Fee waivers for college applications and admissions tests (SAT/ACT)
✅ Additional state and federal funding that supports teachers, staff, and student programs
✅ SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) benefits

Every eligible application helps bring valuable resources to Sequim School District. Without enough completed applications, our district could lose funding and services that directly benefit students.

Please take a few minutes to complete the application today:

Sequim High School families stepped into their students’ world for Open House! Parents and guardians followed their students’ schedules, explored classrooms, met teachers, and got a glimpse of what each class is all about.

A little time in their students’ shoes, a lot of familiar faces, and a great opportunity to see where learning happens each day.

Thank you to our SHS staff for welcoming families and sharing what makes each classroom unique!
