Good morning, classmates!

Lisa is wanting to prepare a “memory wall” for the reunion this summer and would like some help remembering all our classmates who have gone on.
It can be quite embarrassing to forget, or even worse to think someone has passed who actually hasn’t! 🥴
The only ones I’m firmly sure of are Dee Dowis, Janice Maxwell, Sammy Chumley, Marshall Bradley and Billy Farmer.

We’d appreciate your help.

Hey y'all. For some reason, I'm not able to see "comments" anymore on the post I made yesterday about the reunion.
Lisa is getting all this together and I'm sure she'll have more details to share in the coming weeks.

I've never heard of this venue but it looks really nice. Stay tuned for more info, and make sure to mark August 8, 2026 as "40th CLASS REUNION" in your calendar, and share it with your classmates!

We've already lost several classmates in the past 40 years, and none of us are getting any younger.... I still can't believe I'm 57 years old! As much as I enjoy Facebook, nothing compares to seeing people face to face. We hope to see you there!

Hey classmates.
I just wanted to check in and let you know I love you all. “Life is as a v***r: it appears for a little while and then it’s gone.”
It’s sad that some of us only see each other at a funeral. 😢
Mike and I went over to the funeral home tonight in Toccoa to pay our respects to another soul who left this world too soon.
Bryan Burns lost his younger brother, Michael, this week. I don’t know if it was just the Carnesville gang or if it was like this in Lavonia and Royston, but we didn’t just know each other…..we knew the whole family. ❤️

We’re so sorry for your loss, Bryan.

Also, please know that I’ll post any info about a death that I know about. Please feel free to message or text me anytime you have news.

We’re always glad to “meet and eat” somewhere if you’re ready for an informal gathering. ❤️

Please be praying for our friend and classmate, Sonya Thomas Harrison. Her husband, Ned, passed away yesterday after a long illness.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 15th, 2025 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel in Westminster, SC.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 14th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sandifer Funeral Home.

They’ve asked that donations be made to their favorite charity in lieu of flowers. I will send $100 from our class.

So sorry, Sonya. ❤️🙏

I was saddened to hear yesterday that Jeffrey Burns (Bryan Burns’ youngest brother) had been killed in a car accident. His wife, Amy, was also injured but is recovering. They were hit by a drunk driver.

When you come from a small town, people know each other. The families of your friends become an extension of that friendship. I knew both of Bryan’s brothers when we were growing up, as well as siblings of many other classmates. It’s hard to hear of any of them passing away.

The funeral will be September 7, 2024 at 3:00 at Strickland funeral home.

“Life is as a v***r…..it’s here for a little while, and then it’s gone.”(James 4:14)

Love on your people. Make sure they know you love them.
We’re all getting older and probably have more days behind us than we do ahead of us. That’s a sobering thought, huh?
Make sure you know Jesus. ❤️

I love you. Thank you for being my friends; some of you for over 50 years! Take care of yourselves.

We’re praying for your family, Bryan. ❤️

Susan (Farmer) Bradley just sent me some pictures that she ran across. I thought some of you may enjoy a blast from the past from the Carnesville Elementary School days. I am 55 years old and JUST NOW finding out that there was a band program when we were in elementary school?? I had no idea.

Y’all sure were cute though 💕

Hey classmates.
I got a sweet card in the mail today from Marshall’s wife, Susannah, and wanted to share it with you.
I hope you all are well, safe, and abundantly blessed.

Services for Marshall Bradley will be 11am, Saturday morning at B D Ginn Memorial Chapel in Carnesville.
The family will receive friends from 9am until 11am prior to the service Saturday morning. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.

I will send a flower from our class.

Friends,
I am almost at a complete loss for words, but I have to tell you that we’ve lost another classmate (Monday, July 10).
Marshall Bradley passed away late yesterday afternoon. Arrangements haven’t been made yet but I’ll share them with you whenever I hear the news.
That’s 3 classmates in less than a week. Hug your loved ones and make sure they know you love them. 💕
My sincere condolences go out to all these families.
Jill

Thank you to “Downtown Florist” for this beautiful flower that will be taken to the service for Krysti Manley Westbrook.
(Tim Canady’s daughter is the owner of this shop).

I did find out that, as far as I know, there isn’t a service planned for Pamela Wilson Clay. I was told that cremation was planned and there wouldn’t be a memorial service. I will make a donation to the funeral home in lieu of flowers, as requested by her family.

Also, below is the QR code for my Zelle account, if you’d like to contribute to the flower fund.

You can also send it via Venmo -Neave.
Or, Apple Pay at 864-247-0646.

Any amount is appreciated.

I’ve also just heard about the passing today of another classmate, Pam Wilson Clay.
I don’t know any arrangements but will try and find out so I can send flowers for her service, as well.
Please let me know if you hear about funeral arrangements.

This pretty much depletes the $290 that we had in the bank so let me know if you’d like to contribute to the fund so we’ll have it in case we need it. 😢😢
