Over 4.5 days these students worked through the entire conventional embryo transfer protocol — classroom instruction in the mornings, live cattle at the chutes in the afternoons. Palpation and CL identification, flush catheter placement, donor flushing, searching and grading embryos under the scope, loading straws, freezing and thawing, and transferring into recipients.

We're back in Senatobia on Wednesday, September 9 for our next OPU + IVF collection day, and there's still room for donors.

OPU pulls the eggs straight from your donor's ovaries and we fertilize them in the lab. One good cow can keep producing embryos month after month — while still raising her own calf.

Wondering if she's a candidate? Most cows are:

Open or up to 120 days bred — either one works
No hormone stim program. No shots for you to give.
About 15 minutes on the chute
Conventional, sex-sorted or reverse-sorted semen
Show heifer or commercial donor — same process

Congratulations to our latest Bovine AI course graduates! 🎓

Another great group finished up at the school this week — and every one of them left with cows bred by their own hand. Over a day and a half they worked through reproductive anatomy, semen handling and thawing, heat detection, estrous synchronization protocols, palpating the cervix, and passing the AI gun — first on tracts and the cow model, then out at the chutes on live cows until it clicked. Well done, all of you!
