Seminole Public Schools Educators Attend OBU Conference

Seminole Public Schools educators participated in the “Crash Course Conference: Start Strong, Teach Stronger” hosted by the McCabe Family School of Education at Oklahoma Baptist University on June 9, 2026.

The conference provided educators with a full day of professional learning designed to help teachers begin the school year with strong instructional practices, meaningful student support, and renewed purpose in the classroom.

Throughout the day, participants attended breakout sessions focused on a variety of important topics, including trauma-informed teaching, differentiated instruction, lesson planning, literacy strategies, student motivation, project-based learning, classroom conversations, and supporting student thinking in a digital age. Educators also took part in roundtable discussions, allowing them to collaborate with other teachers and share ideas that can be taken back into their own classrooms.

The conference theme, “Start Strong, Teach Stronger,” encouraged educators to continue growing in their profession while finding practical strategies to better serve students. Seminole Public Schools is proud of its educators for investing their time in professional development and for their continued dedication to student success.

Over the past week, our Pom girls and cheerleaders have been hard at work at camp, learning new skills, building confidence, and preparing to bring even more spirit to Seminole High School.

These young ladies and gentleman are truly the backbone of our school spirit. They show up, cheer loud, lead with pride, and help create the energy that brings our students, athletes, and community together.

We are so proud of their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to representing Seminole High School with Chieftain pride. We can’t wait to see them shine this year!

🇺🇸 Leadership in Action! 🇺🇸

Seminole High School is proud to recognize Landree Giles and Maya Wilson, who will attend Oklahoma Girls State, and Weston Neal, who will attend Oklahoma Boys State this summer.

Girls State and Boys State are premier leadership and citizenship programs that give students the opportunity to learn firsthand about government, public service, and civic responsibility while developing leadership skills alongside outstanding students from across Oklahoma.

A special thank you to Carl Odom and American Legion Post 204 for their continued support of SHS students and for sponsoring these exceptional young leaders. Your investment in our students helps prepare the next generation of citizens and community leaders.

Congratulations, Landree, Maya, and Weston! We know you will represent Seminole High School well.
