We are a Johnston County community competitive robotics team hosted by Smithfield-Selma High School.

Our team is structured through the FIRST robotics team model, which incorporates leadership, business, mathematics, engineering.

You can’t always see someone’s disability—and that’s okay.
Millions of people live with invisible disabilities or are still searching for a diagnosis. Their experiences are real, even if they aren’t obvious to others.
Disability isn’t defined by appearance. It’s defined by the barriers people face and the support they need.
This Disability Pride Month, let’s choose empathy over assumptions and inclusion over judgment.
💙 Believe people.
💙 Listen without questioning.
💙 Design spaces where everyone belongs.
Because not every disability is visible—but every person deserves to be seen.

Emotional Disability Awareness
Not every disability is visible.
Many students live with emotional disabilities such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, or PTSD. While these challenges may not always be seen, they are real—and they deserve understanding, respect, and support.
In robotics, every role matters. The strongest teams aren’t just built on engineering skills; they’re built on kindness, patience, and creating a space where everyone feels safe to learn and contribute.
This Disability Pride Month, let’s remember that inclusion means supporting teammates through both the challenges we can see and the ones we can’t.
💙 Different minds build better robots.

This week’s STEAM Summer Camp has been an absolute blast! 🤖☀️
So far we’ve been exploring one letter of STEAM each day:
🔬 Monday: Science
💻 Tuesday: Technology
⚙️ Today: Engineering
Can anyone guess what’s coming tomorrow and Friday? 👀 Drop your guesses in the comments! ⬇️
Today also happens to be National Be a Kid Again Day, so we’re celebrating by embracing curiosity, creativity, and lots of hands-on fun—exactly what summer camp is all about!
💙 We’d love to see your throwback! If you ever attended a robotics or STEM summer camp (or have an old photo of yourself building, creating, or exploring as a kid), share it in a post or on your story and tag us and we will repost to our story! Let’s see where your STEM journey began. 🚀

This Disability Pride Month, we’re celebrating the power of accessible engineering.

On team 6004, we believe innovation is strongest when it’s designed with everyone in mind. That’s what inspired Project FOX (Focus on Dexterity) an initiative that uses robotics to help children strengthen fine motor skills while exploring STEM in an engaging, hands-on way.

Accessibility isn’t just about removing barriers. It’s about creating opportunities for more people to learn, participate, and succeed.

As engineers, we have the responsibility to ask not only *”Can we build it?”* but also “Who are we building it for?”*

This month, and every month, we’re committed to designing technology that helps make STEM more accessible—because engineering has the power to change lives.

Not every disability is visible, and not every experience is the same. 💚
Sensory disabilities can affect how someone experiences sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell, balance, or sensory processing. Accessible design isn’t just about ramps and elevators—it’s also about creating environments where everyone can learn, participate, and thrive.
This month, we’re recognizing the importance of designing with all abilities in mind. Because innovation is strongest when everyone is included.
