Selma High School’s Future Business Leaders of America members traveled to the historic Selma City Hall for a special “Moment with the Mayor,” where Mayor James Perkins signed a proclamation declaring FBLA Week in Selma, Alabama.

This event honored both the legacy of FBLA and Selma High’s chapter while emphasizing the commitment to leadership and professional growth. It also helped showcase the city’s dedication to empowering future business leaders, providing members with valuable insight into civic engagement and strengthening their connection with local officials.

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter at Selma High School will hold a recruitment meeting on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, at 3:05 PM in Room E111, Ms. Farrior’s classroom in the business hall. This meeting is perfect for students eager to develop leadership and business skills. Attendees will learn about the opportunities FBLA offers, including competitions, community service, and leadership conferences.

Our Future Business Leaders of America team had a fantastic experience at the FBLA state conference in Mobile, Alabama! Our members got the opportunity to compete, network, and obtain vital knowledge about business leadership skills.

We are really proud of all of our participants and can't wait to see how they apply their newly acquired expertise to succeed in their future employment.

As National FBLA Week comes to a end, our chapter had the privilege of meeting with the state president to gain valuable insight and information about the organization. This meeting served as an opportunity to discuss upcoming events and topics that leaders are incorporating into the organization. Our chapter President and Vice-President also received individual guidance on running for state officials, enhancing their understanding of leadership roles within FBLA.

We extend our apprecitave thanks to State President Kendi McHargh, Selma High School Advisor Patricia Farrior, R.B. Hudson STEAM Academy Advisor Crystal Boykin, and Central High School FBLA Advisors and Officials for their invaluable support and guidance in empowering our chapter members to excel in their FBLA journey. Their dedication and mentorship are instrumental in shaping future leaders and cultivating success within our organization. 📣

NATIONAL FBLA WEEK! 📣

On FBLA advisor appreciation day, members gave their dedicated advisor a memory board filled with photographs and personal signatures, reflecting their shared experiences and victory over the year. Along with the memory board, they typed a personalized thank you note to express their genuine appreciation for her guidance, support, and tireless commitment to their success within the organization and beyond.

This gift not only rewarded the advisor's hard work and dedication, but also reaffirmed the connection between members and the advisor, resulting in long-lasting memories and a sense of community among the FBLA organization.

Selma High School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) has planned a shoe drive to help those in need within the community. Lasting until February 17th, we're asking everyone to bring gently used shoes. Your contributions will make a huge difference in the lives of people worldwide. Whether it's a pair of sneakers, sandals, or dress shoes, every contribution counts toward making a good difference. Let us come together as a school community by taking part in this important project.
