What a weekend at the Star Ridge IEA horse show!

This weekend didn’t go quite as planned for me. I experienced a medical emergency that resulted in a TIA (mini-stroke) and ended up in the hospital when I should have been at the barn coaching and run our show.

I honestly don’t even have the words to express how grateful I am to everyone who stepped up to keep things running. Friends, students and all of our amazing parents, the other coaches, and especially my husband, Steve — THANK YOU!

So many people jumped in, took on extra responsibilities, solved problems, and did whatever needed to be done to make sure our riders had a great show. Seeing everyone come together like that means more to me than I can possibly say.

Star Ridge has always been about more than riding horses. It’s about the people, the friendships, the teamwork, and the community we build along the way. This weekend was a pretty powerful reminder of just how special that community is.

I may not have been ringside the way I had planned, but I knew our riders were in good hands because of all of you.

Thank you for showing up, pitching in, and taking care of our Star Ridge family when I needed you most. I am incredibly lucky to have you all in my corner. I could never have done it without you! ❤️

Now, I’m going to focus on resting and recovering, and I’ll be forever grateful for the people who made sure the show went on!

Confidence doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes, it starts with getting in the saddle. 🐴

I've seen riders start out nervous, unsure of themselves, and wondering if they can really do it.

Then, little by little, things start to change.

They learn to communicate with their horse. They figure out how to handle challenges. They make mistakes, try again, and start trusting what they're capable of.

And one day, something that used to feel difficult becomes something they can do on their own.

That's the kind of progress I love seeing at the barn.

Every rider starts somewhere, and sometimes all it takes is that first lesson.

Hi everybody, I own star Ridge Stables. And I am hosting an IEA horse show this Saturday and Sunday. My Steward has informed me that she is very sick and having to cancel. So I am looking for a Steward for Saturday and Sunday. Sunday might get rained out. So at this time, I am looking for someone who can Steward on Saturday.

🐴 Star Ridge Stables

There's something about that first moment a kid reaches up and touches a horse.

They're nervous. You can see it in how they hold their breath. But they do it anyway, and something shifts right there, before they've even learned to hold the reins or post a trot.

They just figured out they're braver than they thought.

That's the part we love most about what we do. It's not really about riding. It's about what riding teaches kids about themselves, and we get a front-row seat to it every single day here at Star Ridge Stables.
