We started out the year with a desk goose wearing a pencil outfit. My students (mostly my boys) picked the name Lil Oosey for it. Now it has a fur coat, shades, and a chain along with two duck friends. Albert Einstein doesn’t quite fit in now, but they reassured me today he would have some new accessories very soon! Life with 6 grades is very unpredictable, but so much fun!

Meet the Teacher is complete and we are ready for the first day tomorrow! I am so thankful for the Lord opening the door to 6th grade for me. My prayer for this year, these students, this classroom, and my life is that God use it and me for His glory. That each of these students know they are deeply loved and cared for, not just by me, but mostly by Him. That they love coming to school each day, even if they don’t love the work sometimes lol. I am expectant for what this year will bring! This song has been on repeat for me all summer and it’s my heart’s cry:

“My whole life for your glory, my whole world for you only. Everything for the honor of your name. And if my days tell a story, let it be of you only. Everything for the honor of your name.”

All of my painting is done! So thankful to be past that part. It’s not my favorite 🤪 now to finish with all the fun still I love doing!

The big red cubbies are officially painted and the wood wall is done. Just those two changes made this room feel so different! Loving every part of watching this room transform and change! 💚

😭❤️ so grateful for these surprises that showed up at my house this weekend for my classroom!! From the prayers of many, the encouragement from even more, and these gifts for my classroom, I can’t put into words how blessed I feel to have a community of people who love me like they do! I truly am so thankful for the support of everyone in my teaching career and I cannot wait to put these gifts from my wishlist to use in my classroom this week!!

First week of school is in the books! There is teacher tired. Then there is first week of school teacher tired. Then there is new school for you with 2 kids of your own starting school there and you get picked to do carpool teacher tired 😅 but seriously, as tired as I am, I would do it all again a million times.

Being at CCS is a blessing I can’t explain. Everyone is so kind and loving. My first 3 days were filled with treats and happies from students, coworkers, and a sweet friend. The love I have experienced in 3 days is like nothing I’ve experienced! But the best part, I have had the joy and honor of starting every single class off with prayer over my students, our classroom, and our day! And then we get to dive into God’s Word right after. I knew this would all happen, but none of it hit me until Wednesday morning when I was able to do it for the first time. I can’t put into words what that feels like. It was such an emotional moment for me. I’ve never had that freedom in public school and it makes sharing the gospel difficult. I truly am so thankful God led our family to Covenant Christian!! 💙🤍
