We enjoyed working with our virtual students who attended today’s ACCESS Support Session! Students had the opportunity to get logged in, ask questions, and become more familiar with the ACCESS platform.

We have several important opportunities coming up next week for our virtual learners!

💻 Monday, August 17 – ACCESS Support Sessions
Our 9th–12th grade virtual learners may attend either session:
⏰ 9:00–11:00 a.m. OR 1:00–3:00 p.m.

We will assist students with ACCESS login issues and answer questions to help them get off to a successful start!

📊 Tuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19 – i-Ready Testing
Our 7th and 8th grade virtual learners will complete beginning-of-the-year i-Ready testing.

⏰ Students should arrive by 8:30 a.m. each morning and should be finished by approximately 11:30 a.m.

If you have been approved for the Saints Virtual Learning Program but have not yet completed your registration, you may register at Selma High School during the following times:

📅 Wednesday, July 29, 2026
🕘 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
OR
📅 Thursday, July 30, 2026
🕐 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Selma High School Cafeteria

A parent or guardian must be present to complete registration. Registration at Selma High School is required before your virtual course schedule can be finalized and your classes assigned.

🎓 Now Accepting Virtual Learning Interest Forms!

The Saints Virtual Learning Program is accepting interest forms for Selma City Schools students in grades 7–12 who are interested in learning in a virtual environment during the upcoming school year.

Before submitting the interest form, please remember:

✅ Students must be enrolled with Selma City Schools.
✅ Students must be registered at R.B. Hudson Middle School (Grades 7–8) or Selma High School (Grades 9–12).
✅ Students will use ACCESS or Edgenuity for virtual coursework.
✅ Students must report to the school building for all required testing.

High school students using Edgenuity must complete their CTE courses either online through ACCESS or in person at Selma High School.

Once enrollment and scheduling have been completed at your child's home school, virtual classes will be created and assigned by the Saints Virtual Learning Program.

📢 Now Hiring: Virtual Learning and Alternative School Program Teacher (9½-Month Position)

The Saints Virtual Learning Program is seeking a dedicated educator to serve as a 9½-Month Teacher for the Virtual Learning and Alternative School Program. This position will support students participating in Selma City Schools' virtual learning option by:

📈 Monitoring student progress, attendance, and course completion

📚 Providing academic support and interventions

💻 Assisting students with coursework

🤝 Collaborating with counselors, administrators, and families to ensure student success

Preferred candidates will have knowledge of Alabama middle and high school curriculum and experience with Edgenuity, ACCESS, and PowerSchool. If you are passionate about helping students succeed in a virtual environment and preparing them for graduation and beyond, we encourage you to apply!

If you're a returning Saints Virtual high school student who participated in Dual Enrollment last school year or if you're interested in enrolling in Dual Enrollment for the upcoming school year, don't miss Selma High School's Dual Enrollment registration!

📍 Location: Selma High School Library Media Center
📅 Dates: July 13–16, 2026
🕙 Times: 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
📌 New Dual Enrollment students must attend with a parent or guardian.

Dual Enrollment is a great opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. If you're interested in getting a head start on college, this is the first step!

🎓 Now Accepting Virtual Learning Interest Forms!

The Saints Virtual and Alternative Learning Center Virtual Program is open to Selma City Schools students in grades 7–12 who are interested in completing their education through a virtual learning environment.

Before completing the interest form, please review the eligibility requirements:

✅ Students must be enrolled with Selma City Schools.
✅ Students will use either ACCESS or Edgenuity as their virtual learning platform.
✅ Students must be willing to report to the school building for all required testing.

Additional Information for High School Students:
Students who choose Edgenuity as their primary virtual learning platform must complete their Career Technical Education (CTE) courses either:
• Online through ACCESS, or
• In person at Selma High School.
