Thank you to the advocacy of teachers, guardians, and community members, but especially to dedication of ISTA and its members! HB1134 is dead. However, our vigilance and advocacy cannot waiver as the end of the legislative session approaches. There still bills harmful to our schools and students in the legislature, and the language from HB 1134 could be added to something else.

Today, SCTA members were joined by a Silver Creek parent and a school board member at the Statehouse. We made our voices heard, while we met with legislators to discuss how certain bills would impact our students, our schools, our ability to teach, and more. Tomorrow, another group from SCTA will be up there!
