Happy ! Today, we’re spotlighting three of our 2024 Sports Hall-of-Fame recipients.
⭐ Amy Long – Class of 1995
Amy Long distinguished herself as a three-sport athlete in basketball, tennis, and softball. Despite her late introduction to these sports—beginning basketball in seventh grade, softball at 13, and tennis in ninth grade—her performance was far from that of a beginner. Her remarkable achievements and statistics are a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication.
⭐ Spencer Myers – Class of 2010
Spencer Myers is a testament to the power of dedication, discipline, and determination. His athletic prowess, showcased in wrestling, football, and track & field, has left an indelible mark on the history of Selinsgrove sports.
⭐ Tim Reed – Class of 1975
A three-sport athlete, Tim excelled in football, basketball, and track & field.
In football, Tim was a three-year varsity letterman and team captain in his senior year. He held the record for single-season punting average for 40 years and remains tied for first in career punting average. His defensive prowess led to six interceptions in his senior year, earning him first-team Daily Item honors in the defensive secondary. In basketball, Tim demonstrated leadership as a three-year varsity letterman and team captain in 1974.
Tim’s track & field achievements are equally impressive. As team captain in his junior and senior years, he led the Seals to three undefeated seasons, three consecutive league championships, and two district championships.
