Hooper brings a unique combination of experience and expertise to her teaching. She earned the Bachelor of Music in Education from Susquehanna University and the Master of Music in Pedagogy from Illinois State University. She is a certified Alexander Technique Teacher through Alexander Technique International and a Licensed Andover Educator™ Body Mapping Facilitator. Both of these trainings prepar
ed her to teach musicians to move according to their bodies' design, thereby preventing injury and enhancing technical fluency. Kay has taught students of all ages and levels, from music readiness for pre-schoolers through college and master's level courses. She has presented topics at local, state, national, and international conferences. She is also the author of "Sensory Tune-ups: a guided journal of sensory experiences for performers of all ages." Kay's teaching is geared toward the needs of each individual student. She is know for her knowledge, patience and sense of humor, as well as her flexibility. Beginners of all ages are welcome, as are more advanced students.
