As we continue our leadership topic for this month, we realize that communicating effectively is hard! More often than not, the breakdown in communication isn't as obvious as in this example. That means that we're missing out on a lot of things in life by not being effective communicators.⁠

When dancers learn to communicate their needs they become better dancers. We've seen it many times over the years. Students that struggle with one thing or the other are suddenly able to be understood, and everything suddenly 'clicks.' They're finally able to make huge progress in a short time.⁠

As always, this principle applies to much more than just dance classes.

With this month being all about effective communication at Dance Pointe we recognize the power that words have. Words can build and they can be used to destroy.⁠

Of course, here at Dance Pointe our staff is trained specifically to use their words to build great dancers with confidence and self-esteem. We all try our best to "catch them doing right." That means we do our best to point out to students when they are acting, speaking, or dancing the way they should.⁠
⁠
Some of the students at the studio this month have committed to do their best to avoid any criticism, blaming, gossip, or foul language. (That's really hard for most of us!)⁠
⁠
We could use your help "catching them doing right." If you notice that they're speaking more kindly, or choosing their words more carefully, please point it out. That helps to reinforce what they're hearing in class, and helps them to continue to practice outside of class as well.

💪 Motivation for today: The journey might not be easy, but it will be worth it. Trust the process, work hard, and let your passion lead the way. 💡✨
