The Baccalaureate Scholarship closes March 2, 2022!

With less than two weeks until the close of the Baccalaureate Scholarship (BaS) application, we're in the final stretch!

Providing up to $22,500 in financial aid and access to career-launching support services, BaS supports some of our state's most hardworking students in pursuing a bachelor's degree in high-demand STEM and health care fields. This year, we're accepting more applicants than before—but we need your help encouraging students to apply!

Reminder—No School Tomorrow, November 17:

As a reminder there will be no school for Selah School District students tomorrow, Wednesday, November 17, as staff participates in a scheduled Inservice Day. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 18.

As a reminder, there will be no school in the Selah School District tomorrow, Thursday, November 11, in celebration of Veterans Day. On this day of appreciation for those who have served or who are currently serving, please take a moment to thank a Veteran or active military personnel for their service. Classes for students resume on Friday.

October is National Principals Month! Thank You to Joe Coscarart!

As we complete the last week of October we conclude the celebration of our principals and assistant principals during National Principals Month. A BIG THANKS to all our building administrators for their work on behalf of students and staff.

Today’s final spotlight is on Selah Academy Online/Big Picture Learning Principal, Joe Coscarart.

Joe’s support of Selah students has definitely impacted lives.

It’s Flashback Friday!

In the Selah School District as we prepare our learners with skills for their future, we are celebrating our memories of the past and the moments which have helped build our Viking culture! We call this Flashback Friday!

As we conclude Spirit Week in Selah, besides a Viking victory there is one tradition that is anticipated as part of the Friday night football game. That is the crowning of the fall’s homecoming royalty. The dresses, corvette’s, fireworks and pageantry—it makes for a spirited half-time show! In a flashback, let’s look across the years at the kings, queens, and royal court who once wore the crowns.

Take a look, is there anyone you recognize? Be watching next Friday as we flashback again. You never know who you are going to see!

Hope to see you at tonight’s homecoming contest as the Vikings host Othello! Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.

First Late Start Wednesday is Tomorrow, September 8th!

As a reminder, the first late arrival Wednesday of the school year is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8. Late start Wednesdays will continue weekly until the end of the school year. On late arrival Wednesday, ALL SCHOOLS in the Selah School District will begin one hour later than their normal start time. This is a change from previous years where the late arrival was on Mondays.

It's Flashback Friday!

As we begin a new school year and prepare our learners with skills for their future, we are going to have some fun and celebrate our memories of the past!

This year, concluding each week, we will feature Flashback Friday and post images from Selah’s past. It will be fun remembering the bygone moments of students, classrooms, spirit, and athletics and activities which have helped build our Viking culture.

With that, this week marked the first day of classes for Selah School District students as they began the 2021-2022 school year. Let's flashback to the first week of school in 1961! Who do you recognize?
