Texas A & M University is 150 years old this year- first classes were in October 1876 with 40 students and 6 faculty members.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED TO MAKE OUR 2025 COUNTRY CHRISTMAS AN ENJOYABLE EVENT FOR ALL!!

Make plans to join us for a wonderful Country Christmas celebration! The weather is looking wonderful this year for all the planned outdoor activities such as a hay ride, kiddie ride, cowboy cobbler, live nativity including barnyard animals. The historical church has amazing caroling by area choirs and musicians planned. The village with the historical buildings of schools, farm houses, a general store, gas station, Justice of the Peace, and a Texas Rangers station will all be available. Master Gardeners will be in the extensive garden sharing their wisdom.
Inside the Museums, Santa makes a visit along with wooden toy crafts and other fun things to make and see. More wonderful live music is planned for inside the main hall along with treats and eats.
Both inside and outside, the Center is wonderfully decorated for the the magic of a Country Christmas! Come to this wonderful annual community celebration! The weather looks like it will be terrific!

Lots of fun, activity and events are ready for this years Pecan Fest!
Everything from farm animals, antique tractor pull, archery & blacksmithing demonstrations, crafts & pecan scavenger hunt, hayride, pecan baked goods & youth scarecrow contests, square dancers & youth fiddlers performances, lots of local vendors AND the entire heritage village, barns, gardens, homesteads, museums & exhibits are all ready!
Participating local organizations include the Sunrise Lions Club offering hamburgers & hotdogs, area 4H groups are working on their scarecrows & have games ready, the Pioneer Flight Museum providing a motorized display, & the expert master gardeners are graciously getting the gardens growing.
So many wonderful volunteers & docents are looking forward to this years PECAN FEST!
