Children can only do as well as they are taught and modeled. Kids don’t learn emotional regulation skills and emotional intelligence from parents who yell, hit and degrade them into making better choices. Your intentions don’t change a child’s brain chemistry. And your expectations don’t change what they are developmentally capable of.

All children deserve conscious parents.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but FORGIVE your parents…. Not because they were perfect but so your children can forgive you one day as well. Take what you learned and build better with love not resentment. Break the cycle peacefully. ♡
