The Concrete Resource Coalition is excited to announce the launch of the Concrete Hiking and Biking Club for youth in grades 6-10. This initiative, born from the Concrete Prevention Posse, aims to foster engagement and provide social emotional learning opportunities through exciting outdoor activities. Meetings are held bi-weekly, and we encourage interested teens to join us. Additionally, the Concrete Prevention Posse is actively planning events for the community, including the upcoming Zombie Fashion Runway. Join us in supporting youth development and community involvement.

The Concrete Prevention Posse is excited to bring back the 2nd Annual Zombie Fashion Runway! Last year, 15 zombies limped, dragged, and shuffled their way into the spotlight at the haunted and historic Concrete Theatre. Want to join this year? Participation is simple: create your zombie backstory, design your costume, and complete the registration form at https://forms.gle/kTfUT7yoA6h6yCEa6 by October 16th. This event is completely free and open to anyone ages 12 and up.

We’ll have talented volunteers available to help with makeup, but supplies are limited, please bring what you can. Prizes will be awarded for best costume, best makeup, best zombie strut, and best backstory.

New this year, we have a group from Skagit Thrillers performing Thriller. They would love to have others join them on stage! If you want to be part of the dance, you can fill out the liability form and start learning the moves at https://thrilltheworld.com/

Lastly, we would love the community to show up and cheer on this amazing group of teens and adults. Please share and attend.

It's that time of year again! School starts September 1st for our 1st-12th graders. Come join us at Silo Park from 7:45 to 8:15 to welcome back students. We have plenty of signs already made or you can bring your own with an uplifting message. Please share and come join us! Day 7 of the Concrete Summer Leadership adventure. Today, Wade from Skagit Valley Bicycle Coalition set up a bike obstacle course for our campers. They provided helmets and bikes. Thank you! Day 6 of the Concrete Summer Leadership Adventure was spent hiking the Park Butte Trail. It was a beautiful day! Did you know the Concrete Resource Coalition will launch a hiking and biking club for 6th-10th graders in September? More details to come soon.
