This seventh-grade student stumbled upon this image in an old issue of Life magazine. She thought it would be a fun subject to use as the design for a block print. The project turned out wonderfully!!

Drawing in a realistic form is about observation and using the right tools. Lips have been tricky for this seventh grader, but she has come a long way in drawing with different textures and values. Though unfinished, these lips mark a promising beginning in her artistic journey!!

While exploring the world of street-signs with a delightful four-year-old student, he eagerly insisted on making a sign just for me! It was such a sweet gesture! The back was going to read, "Best Teacher Ever," but we'll have to wait for the front to dry first!

Our second doodle club is next Monday, the 13th! My, how fast a month goes by! See you there!

Friendly reminder next Monday, November 13 from 3:30 to 5:00 PM, is our second-ever Doodle Club event!

We had a seriously good turnout last month and we are hoping for an even greater one this time.

Doodle Club is for all ages 5-18 (children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult). If you have an interest in art or perhaps are looking for a new hobby and want to try out drawing for the first time, this is the event for either side of that coin. All experience levels are welcome and encouraged.

The event, as always, is completely free and all materials are provided, so all you have to do is show up.

I'm frequently astounded by the incredible concepts, abilities, and characters that my students bring to their art lessons. As an educator, how do I navigate these scenarios? My role involves nurturing fresh perspectives within their artistic repertoire.
This impressive spray-can stenciled canvas, created by a local seventh-grader, is a reinterpretation of his pen and paper character, and result is truly captivating!
