In other states, we have less ability to act as a doctor but we still have the training. The base philosophy of naturopathic medicine varies in that we approach symptoms like your intelligent body's logical response to some situation that it is attempting to work around. We don't view the body as a "broken machine" that needs to have symptoms controlled as a primary treatment option, although we support that for comfort while we work on finding the root cause.
