As many of you already know, I have made the difficult decision to step away from my role as Director of Thompson Early Learning Center. This was not a decision I made lightly, as I truly loved my job, my incredible staff, and the many families with whom I have built meaningful relationships over the years.
Serving this community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I will miss seeing and working with all of you every day. While I am stepping away from my position, I will continue to support the daycare in any way I can during the transition until a new Director is in place.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me in my decision to take an early retirement. Your encouragement, kindness, and understanding have meant more than words can express.
Most importantly, I want to give a special thank you to my husband. Throughout this journey, he has supported my decision wholeheartedly. He is my best friend, my greatest source of strength, and my constant source of encouragement. I am incredibly blessed and grateful to have him by my side as I begin this next chapter.
Thank you all for the memories, friendships, and support. The relationships I have built here will always hold a special place in my heart.
Sincerely,
Wendy Smith

📸 Photo dump of Mrs. Taylor’s friends 💛
These last couple of weeks have been full of learning, growing, and lots of fun! We worked on the letters L & F, the colors orange & red, shapes circle & square, and numbers 4 & 5. We also had so much fun playing in shaving cream while practicing our letters and shapes.
My little friends were so excited to take their grass home after two weeks of watering and watching it grow! 🌱 We also learned all about Earth Day and how important it is to keep our Earth clean and healthy. 🌎

Learning through play in Mrs. Taylor’s class yesterday! 🌱 My kiddos planted grass seeds in cups so we can watch them grow over the next few weeks. We explored the seeds and dirt with our hands and talked about what they felt like. We also learned that plants need water 💧 and sunshine ☀️ to grow. I can’t wait for them to see their grass start sprouting!
