Not sure where to go when you arrive? No worries! We’ll have plenty of adults throughout the building ready to greet you, answer questions, and get you headed in the right direction. Just look for a friendly face!

Parents: Please give everyone a little extra patience during the first couple of weeks as families learn our arrival and dismissal procedures. Follow the posted signs and the directions of our staff members and Officer Kresse outside, we’ll get everyone moving safely and efficiently!

GAME ON, SMS! WHERE EVERY MOVE MATTERS!

Open enrollment for families who need assistance is set for 10 am to 7 pm July 28 at all district schools. Kindergarten screenings also will be available. See the newsletter link for required documents and other details.

SMS loves Sedalia Parks & Rec. and appreciate their support in writing our students back and providing them with day passes and stickers of our favorite squirrel, Libby! We love the support we get from our community! !

We received a fun surprise in the mail this week! 📬

Several 4th grade students from Sedalia Middle School were tasked with writing persuasive letters to a local business or organization...and Sedalia Parks & Recreation was lucky enough to receive a few of them!

Students shared thoughtful ideas about pools, parks, recreation opportunities, memberships, and ways to make our community even better. We were especially impressed by the strong reasoning, creativity, and care they put into their letters. While we may not be able to fulfill every “ask,” we truly appreciate these students taking the time to share their ideas and vision for Sedalia’s future.

A special shoutout to Zayne, Hokulani, Audrey, and Jonathan for their wonderful letters and community spirit. 👏

Thank you for reminding us that great ideas can come from any age and that the next generation is already thinking about ways to make Sedalia stronger, more fun, and more connected.
