🌟 Student Spotlight of the Week: Megan! 🌟
Some people spend years searching for what they want to do in life. Megan found her passion early and is already taking action to make it a reality.
Just one week out of high school, she’s already investing in her education, building her future, and taking the first steps toward her own business in equine bodywork. So many of us wish we had discovered our calling this young, and it’s been incredibly inspiring to watch her begin this journey.
We’re so proud of your dedication, Megan, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for Equine Sports Massage!
Here’s what Megan had to say about her experience:
“I’ve been lucky enough to be around equine massage for a while now, but five years ago life looked different and I still planned on vet school. Slowly I realized that wasn’t the right path for me anymore, and equine massage was right there to fill that gap. I loved the concentrated style of class, and I can’t wait to come back for Equine Sports Massage and more! Elite Equine Performance Therapies is proud to share where I’m receiving such an amazing education.”
Congratulations, Megan! Your future is bright, and we’re honored to be a part of your journey. 💙🐴

🐴 BIG WIN FOR HORSES! 🐴
California has taken an important step forward in protecting horses with the passage of Assembly Bill 128 (AB 128).
While California has prohibited horse slaughter for human consumption since 1998, AB 128 strengthens enforcement by closing loopholes that allowed horses to slip through the cracks at auctions.
What does the law do?
✅ Requires auction yards to check for brands, tattoos, and microchips before animals are sold
✅ Requires identifying information to be publicly posted online
✅ Requires buyers at auctions to sign a sworn statement acknowledging California’s horse slaughter laws
✅ Requires auction facilities to post notices that selling horses for slaughter for human consumption is a felony
✅ Improves recordkeeping and transparency at horse auctions
These measures help create accountability and make it more difficult for horses to enter the slaughter pipeline unnoticed. California’s horse slaughter ban already makes it a felony to buy, sell, transport, or possess a horse intended for human consumption, and AB 128 provides additional safeguards to help enforce those protections. (Animal Law)
Every horse deserves safety, dignity, and a future beyond the auction ring. Laws like AB 128 are an important reminder that stronger protections and greater transparency can make a real difference for equine welfare.
💚 A win for horses.
💚 A win for responsible ownership.
💚 A win for animal welfare.

Congratulations to our newest graduates of the RMSAAM Equine Therapeutic Massage Level 1 Certification Program! 🎉🐴
What an incredible group of students this class has been. Over the past week, they have dedicated themselves to learning equine anatomy, massage techniques, observation skills, and the foundations of helping horses feel and perform their best.
We are so proud of the hard work, passion, and commitment each student brought to this course. Watching their confidence grow and seeing the connections they built with both the horses and one another was truly inspiring.
This class was absolutely incredible, and we cannot wait to see where their journeys in this work take them. Whether they continue their education, incorporate massage into their current careers, or begin helping horses in their own communities, we know they have a bright future ahead.
Congratulations, graduates! Welcome to the RMSAAM family. 💙🐴

RMSAAM and ABMP are teaming up!
As part of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals' (ABMP) Event: Massage is for Everyone
Looking for volunteers (students, grads, massage pracs)
to partner with us on July 23 to gift canine massage sessions to therapy and service dogs who are part of the Canine Companions nonprofit. This organization brought 22 therapy dogs to Evergreen High School in the aftermath of last fall’s tragic shooting there and serves our communities on a daily basis.
Reach out to Tracy Vroom if you are interested in helping with this service project.
Thank you!
