Today was a beautiful day for BJJ at the Tap Cancer Out BJJ Open at Regis University Field House.
While I stepped on the mats as a competitor, my greatest honor was coaching four incredible men from the Team Chaotic 0515 Morning Crew.
I couldn't be prouder of these guys. Matt brought home gold, Jason earned silver, and Justin and Cameron tested themselves against multiple skilled opponents. But medals and victories weren't what made me proudest today.
What mattered most was the courage each of them showed by stepping onto the mats and challenging themselves. Win or lose, they gave their best, and that's what truly counts.
Even more importantly, they represented Team Chaotic Combat Sports and Fitness and Combative Fighting Systems with outstanding sportsmanship, humility, and respect. As a coach, I don't measure success solely by the outcome of a match, I measure it by character. Every one of these men displayed genuine kindness, positive attitudes, and respect for their opponents throughout the day. They were outstanding ambassadors for our team, and I'm honored to be part of their journey.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to all of the friends, family members, teammates, and supporters who came out to cheer us on today. Your encouragement, kind words, and support mean more than you know. Having people in our corner makes these long training sessions and challenging competitions even more meaningful.
And to my amazing wife, thank you for always supporting me and the crazy things I decide to do. Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and for being my biggest fan through every challenge and every victory. I couldn't do any of this without you, and I'm blessed to have you by my side.
Congratulations, gentlemen. The medals are great, but the character you displayed today is what I'm proudest of. Today was a fantastic reminder that while competition is important, the friendships, support, and community we build along the way are what truly matter.
